Recent Deaths: Denis Scott of Weavers Close died suddenly at home. He is survived by his wife Margaret and his family Cathy, Angela and Jeff. Funeral arrangements: His body will be received into St Teresa s Church at 4pm on Tues 21 st Nov; Funeral Mass at on Wed 22 nd Nov followed by Committal at the Crematorium. Mark Cresswell, son-in-law of George & Pat Lumley died recently. He is survived by his wife Joanna and daughters Laura, Emma and Rachel. Funeral Service at Colchester Crematorium at 12:30pm on Thurs 23 rd Nov May those who have died rest in peace and those that mourn be comforted. Fr Charles Mission in Uganda We will be having a second collection after all Masses this weekend to go with the fundraising that has taken place this year in the Parish and at St Teresa's school. Fr Charles has sent some new photos to show how your generous donations are helping with the building work at the school and the Church. Please see photos at the back of the Church. 3 ST TERESA OF LISIEUX AND ST JOHN THE BAPTIST DIOCESAN PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS Lord, You call us by name with the words first spoken on the shore of Lake Galilee, Follow me. Breathe deep within us the gifts of your Holy Spirit; help us to have the wisdom to hear your call, the courage to answer it and the faith to live it. So that the Gospel is preached, the poor are served with love, the suffering are comforted, the lost are found and welcomed and all are strengthened by the grace and joy of the Sacraments. In our parish community, our family, our home, our school, in our Diocese of Brentwood, especially inspire those whom you are calling today to the priesthood and religious life to say, Yes, Lord. Here I am. Send me. We ask this through Christ Our Lord, Amen. Holy Father s Intentions for November That Christians in Asia, bearing witness to the Gospel in word and deed, may promote dialogue, peace and a mutual understanding, especially with those of other religions November is the Month of the Holy Souls During this month prayers and Masses are said for the Faithful Departed. November Dead Lists and Envelopes are available at the back of the church. Please put names of your deceased family and friends on the lists and place them in the envelopes. (Please do not place money in the envelopes.) Completed envelopes can be placed in the basket at the back of the church. 2 nd Dec 11:30am Ordination of Deacon David Pearce You are invited to the Ordination to the Priesthood of Deacon David Pearce on Saturday Dec 2 nd at 11:30am, here at St Teresa s Church. Please be seated no later than 11:15am as we are expecting people from other parts of the Diocese to join us. Parking in St Teresa s school is reserved for clergy and those with very limited mobility. Other parking will be available at Home Farm School and Lexden primary School. More information on parking will be issued next week. As this is a very important occasion for our parish so let us all ask the Holy Spirit to guide Deacon David in these days of preparation. 5 Fire Drills St Teresa s and St John s Please note that evacuation drills will take place over the next few weeks. These are required by the Diocese and their safety consultants. The drills will take place at the end of Mass, following an announcement by Father Tom. The alarms will be sounded. Father Tom and those on the Sanctuary will leave first and go to the Assembly Point (the lawn in front of Fr Tom s house at St Teresa s and the front gate at St John s), followed by the choir and musicians. The congregation should then leave the church by all available exits quickly but calmly. Please give priority to those with mobility problems and young children. Follow the instructions given by our wardens and ushers. Further details will be given in our newsletters.
