THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM: Second & fourth Sundays at 1:00 PM. Expectant parents may contact the parish office to arrange for the baptism seminar class on the third Thursday of every month. The class is held in the Religious Education Building, Room 7 at 7:30 PM. Adults are baptized and confirmed at the Easter Vigil after completing the stages of the Rite of Christian Initiation. RCIA Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults: A process for those who wish to enter the Catholic Faith, or for present Catholic individuals who after being baptized need to receive the sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation. THE SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY: Since Catholic marriage requires a time of preparation, arrangements should begin at least six months before the proposed date of the wedding to allow for the Marriage Preparation Program and Natural Family Planning (NFP). PASTORAL CARE OF THE SICK: If you are planning to enter the hospital for surgery, experiencing a prolonged or serious illness, or homebound, call the parish office to arrange for the sacraments of reconciliation, communion and anointing at home. Communal anointing of the sick is celebrated at Mass during the Advent and Lenten seasons. WELCOME TO NEW PARISHIONERS: The Saint Patrick faith community warmly welcomes you! The woman pleaded with Elijah who took the son and prayed over him. When the child revived Elijah returned him to his mother who recognized Elijah as "a man of God." Second Reading: Galatians 1:11-19 Paul proclaims the gospel, not as human, but coming from the revelation of Jesus Christ. Paul continues to acknowledge his own sinfulness and call to grace. Gospel: Luke 7:11-17 The gospel continues to recount the miracles and healing powers of Jesus. As Jesus neared the gates to the city of Nain, they came upon a deceased young man who was being carried out of the city. 3 St. Patrick s Religious Education News *Religious Education Registration for is open. From the desk of Fr. Charlie Dear friends in Christ, It is so good to be back home at Saint Patrick s! As many of you know, I was at Guest House for the past six months. Guest House is a special treatment center for priests and religious in Lake Orion, Michigan. The staff there did a remarkable job. After my stay there, I finally feel like I have some better control over my Type 1 Diabetes. I gained 35 pounds and I feel that I have so much more energy than I did in the past. I am very grateful for the support of His Eminence, Cardinal Dolan. He came to see me when I was hospitalized back in November. He promised me that, after a few months of treatment, he would send me back to Saint Patrick s. He also called me, at least once a month, to check up on me and see the progress that I was making. I am so thankful to our wonderful and supportive staff here at Saint Patrick s to Mrs. Margie Lynch, Mrs. Marie Kiely, and Mr. Robert Cotter. Although it was very difficult to be away, I had very little worries knowing that they were here to support our priests. I am especially grateful to Father Ginel, Father Emmanuel, and Deacon Paul Weireter for all of their hard work. Again, I knew that the people of Saint Patrick s were in excellent hands. I know I speak for all of us when I say that Father Ginel will truly be missed. I am thankful to all of you for all of your prayers, cards, and letters. I truly felt that you were praying me back to health. Now comes the difficult part. I have to keep the good work going in terms of my health diet, exercise, and proper diabetes management. Let s keep praying for each other. Once again, how good it is to be home! We are in need of teachers. If you would like to volunteer, please call Marie Kiely at the Religious Ed office. For information, please call the office at (845) ALTAR ROSARY SOCIETY NEWS The Altar Rosary Society holds meetings every first Saturday, after 9am Mass, following the Rosary. We are looking for new members to enlighten our ministry to the Blessed Virgin Mary. All who may be willing to serve, please contact Debbie Caldwell at ADULT BIBLE STUDY We are continuing our reading and discussion of the wonderful blend of theology, history and poetry that is Isaiah. On Thursday, June 16, we will be discussing Chapters 40-43:8. As always, we will meet from 7:30 until 9:00pm in Rm. 10 of the Religious Education Building. Newcomers are welcome. Adoration Sacred Heart Church Monroe, NY Vacation Bible School 2016 Registration for VBS is now open! St. Patrick s VBS will be held June 27 July 1 from 9am 1pm at St. Patrick s Religious Education Building. The theme this year is based on Nehemiah 4:14b, Remember that the Lord is great and awesome. VBS is open to students entering kindergarten in Fall 2016 through students completing 5th grade. The cost is $25 per child plus $3 registration fee. Student registration is now open. Forms are available on the St. Patrick s website: Stpatrickny.org. Sacred Heart Church in Monroe has Adoration every Wednesday from 8-9am, as well as on Friday nights from 89pm. In additon, they also have NOCTURNAL ADORATION every First Friday, from 8pm Friday night to 9am Saturday morning. Feel free to go by and spend some time with Our Lord. It was created to provide help and support to those who have lost a baby at birth or prior to birth.
