THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM: Second & fourth Sundays at 1:00 PM. Expectant parents may contact the parish office to arrange for the baptism seminar class on the third Thursday of every month. The class is held in the Religious Education Building, Room 7 at 7:30 PM. Adults are baptized and confirmed at the Easter Vigil after completing the stages of the Rite of Christian Initiation. RCIA Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults: A process for those who wish to enter the Catholic Faith, or for present Catholic individuals who after being baptized need to receive the sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation. THE SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY: Since Catholic marriage requires a time of preparation, arrangements should begin at least six months before the proposed date of the wedding to allow for the Marriage Preparation Program and Natural Family Planning (NFP). PASTORAL CARE OF THE SICK: If you are planning to enter the hospital for surgery, experiencing a prolonged or serious illness, or homebound, call the parish office to arrange for the sacraments of reconciliation, communion and anointing at home. Communal anointing of the sick is celebrated at Mass during the Advent and Lenten seasons. WELCOME TO NEW PARISHIONERS: The Saint Patrick faith community warmly welcomes you! He reminds them that there is only one God and all people must keep his commandments. If the laws of God are kept, his people will prosper all their lives. Second Reading: Romans 8:14-17 Paul explains that through the Holy Spirit, we become children of God. As heirs of God we must be willing to suffer as Christ was if we are to share in his glory. Gospel: Matthew 28:16-20 Jesus asks his disciples to go to other nations and teach others all that they have learned. This puts at 96% of our goal of $48, Our next meeting will be on Thursday, June 11th. We will be discussing the first Letter of John, Chap. 3:11 to Chap. 5:21. This is lesson 13 in our study manual. As usual, we will meet at 7:30pm in Room 10 of St. Patrick s Parish Center. All parishioners are warmly encouraged to join us. ALTAR ROSARY SOCIETY NEWS Blessings come to those who pray The Family Rosary lovingly together. The Rosary Altar Society holds meetings every first Saturday, after 9am Mass, following the Rosary. 3 FROM FR. HERB +St. Patrick s Vacation Bible School Dear Friends, Today we celebrate Trinity Sunday; we honor God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Three in one, one and three. In our infinite minds, we can never truly comprehend this, but by surrendering to faith, we at least can embrace some understanding. Our patron, Saint Patrick, using the image of the shamrock is still a great teaching tool to gain some sort of understanding of the trinity in our lives and the life of the Church. This coming Tuesday and Wednesday, our eighth graders will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please keep them in your prayers this week. As the Church celebrated Pentecost last weekend, in a special way, our parish community celebrates the Gift of the Holy Spirit once again, as our young parishioners celebrate this special day in their lives. Student Registration is ongoing for our VBS program held from June 29-July 3. With over 120 teen and 60 adult volunteers, our VBS team is preparing for a wonderful week. Our final Volunteer Meeting will be held on Saturday June 20 at 8:30am in the gym at St. Patrick s Parish Center. When: SonSpark Labs will be held June 29-July 3 from 9am1pm at St. Patrick s. Who: We offer classes for PreK4 through Grade 5 students. Eligible students are those who have completed PreK and are entering Kindergarten in the Fall 2015 through children who are completing 5th grade in June Cost: The cost for the week is $25 per child plus a $3 per family registration fee. This includes a fun-filled day from 9am1pm, many loving volunteers to tend to your child and a daily snack. St. Patrick s Parish Picnic Sunday June 7, pm Tomorrow, Monday, June 1st, we will officially begin Parish Office hours at the Religious Education Building. This move is being done to offer much easier access to all people rather than having to climb down steep steps. Also, the musty damp conditions of being underground, and lastly to have a larger space for our office to carry out the needs of our parish and parishioners. - Rev. Herbert T. For more information go to: or call NYS-WWME ext. 3 Ministry to Separated and Divorced Catholics This is a support group for separated and divorced Catholics which meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Rectory Meeting Room of St. John s Church, 71 Murray Avenue, Goshen, N.Y. For more information, please contact Helen at (845) Fr. Travers will celebrate 12:00 Mass then head over to the church grounds for a hamburger and some fun. There will be an inflatable slide and face painting for children and lots of food and drink. There is no cost. All are welcome. Fr. Travers has requested that he be given no gifts. Please honor his request. He was thrilled, however, that he would like to do some planting on the church grounds in his honor. He has suggested that in lieu of planting trees near the rectory, donated funds be used to refurbish the area around our statue of Mary. Mary s Garden is in need of new evergreens (most of the current ones have died) and new border (the wood on the current one is rotting). If you would like to make a donation, boxes are set up at all church entrances and will also be at the picnic. Make checks payable to St. Patrick s and watch the bulletin for further information regarding restoration. For picnic day we are in need of: --Adult volunteers to manage the children s inflatable In 30- minute increments from 1-4pm. --Teen and/or adult volunteers for face painting and Clean-up. --large coolers filled with ice. Food and drink donations, and coolers of ice may be dropped off in the gym after 10am on Sunday. If you would like to assist, please contact us so we can properly plan the day. It provides food to families every week. It is open Fridays from 11am 12 noon, for people to receive food packages. Donations of non perishable foods from St. Patrick s parishioners may be placed in the basket to the left as you enter our church. A donation of one item, per family, per week, would overflow the basket! Please bring an item when you come to Mass, or stop en route from the grocery store and linger awhile. St. Patrick s is open Monday Saturday, 7am 6pm. Please consider donating from your overstocked cupboard.
