2 STATIONS OF THE CROSS Stations of the Cross will be held on Fridays at 6:30 PM during the Lenten season. If you or your family, friends or organization would like to participate in the Stations of the Cross, please call the parish office (724) so we can schedule you. This is a very spiritual way to enhance your Lenten experience. There are openings for cross bearers and candle bearers. HOLY WEEK- MASS OF THE LORD S SUPPER We are asking for 12 volunteers to have their foot washed at the Mass on Holy Thursday, April 18 th at 6:30 PM. All ages are welcome! You do not have to be Catholic or a member of the parish to participate. Please call the parish office (724) to sign up or for more information. SEDER DINNER Attention students in K-5 and their families: Please join us for our Seder Dinner on Sunday, April 14 th at Christ the King Hall at 5:00 PM. Seder (meaning order in Hebrew) is a story shaped by prayer and praise. Christians share with Jews, the story of slavery to freedom through a covenant with the Lord and delivery to a Promised Land. This ritual is celebrated as a springtime holiday with the hope of creation that life is made new again. Please plan to join in this special Passover Celebration. Please RSVP no later than this Sunday, April 7 th to the Faith Formation Office and indicate the number attending. The Seder dinner is followed by a dinner. Volunteers are needed. Please bring a dessert. Cost: Free FAMILYFEST You are invited to join us for fun, games, food and faith at the second annual FamilyFest Sunday, June 9, at the Christ Our Shepherd Center. The day will include parish food vendors, an evangelization project #FindJesusRocks, and activities for people of all ages, including an Indoor Bingo. The day begins with an outdoor Mass celebrated by Bishop Malesic at 11 a.m. with music provided by a Diocesan Youth Honors Choir. There is an After Mass Party (AMP) immediately following Mass in the church hall. Families are asked to bring a side dish or a dessert. April 28 th will be our last Regional Youth Mass. This is due to the fact that canonically a pastor can only say three Masses a weekend and the Regional Youth Mass would exceed that limit. Youth are an important part of the parish liturgical life and we ask you to continue to serve in this way in the parish setting. MOUNT SAINT PETER PARISH Fish Fry Fridays through April 12 th from 11 AM until 6 PM. Eat In or Take Out. Take-Out Orders call Credit/Debit cards accepted for all orders. We would do well to follow their example and see the works of Jesus and his sacrifice as being in the present, as happening to us now. We believe that Christ s work, his teachings, and his sacrifice on the cross were not just for his followers in the past, but for all people at all times. When we think of this in our prayers, we become one in faith with that great cloud of witnesses, the saints. We have been striving through Lent to repent of our sins and failings, and to follow Jesus more closely. Today in the story of the woman caught in adultery, we see Jesus forgiving the woman, saving her from a horrible death, and urging her not to sin any more. This is new, and brings out something for which the law had not allowed forgiveness. Of course one can sin no more if one is dead, caught in one s sins forever. But Jesus introduces the concepts of forgiveness and reconciliation.
