2 STATIONS OF THE CROSS Stations of the Cross will be held on Fridays at 6:30 PM during the Lenten season. If you or your family, friends or organization would like to participate in the Stations of the Cross, please call the parish office (724) so we can schedule you. This is a very spiritual way to enhance your Lenten experience. There are openings for presiders, readers, cross bearers and candle bearers. LIVING STATIONS at Christ the King! The St. Ferdinand Youth Ministry will be presenting Living Stations at Christ the King Church on Sunday, March 17th at 7:30 PM. The youth ministry consists of teens in 8th through 12th grades. They travel to churches on Sunday s throughout the Lenten season with their presentation. Please make plans to join us, and bring a friend, to this very inspiring depiction of the passion, death and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. HOLY WEEK- MASS OF THE LORD S SUPPER We are asking for 12 volunteers to have their foot washed at the Mass on Holy Thursday, April 18 th at 6:30 PM. All ages are welcome! You do not have to be Catholic or a member of the parish to participate. Please call the parish office (724) to sign up or for more information. Luncheons will feature local pastors giving short giving short talks followed by fellowship and light lunch provided by various churches. The luncheons are held at the Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church at 11:45 AM. Lunches are open to the public. LENTEN LUNCHEON VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Christ the King parish will host the Friday, March 15 th Lenten Luncheon. We are in need of volunteers to help prepare the haluski on Thursday, March 14 th at 8:00 AM and make sandwiches and set up for the luncheon on March 15 th at 9:30 AM. If you are able to assist us please contact the parish office (724) to let us know which day you will be able to help. If you are unable to assist with the luncheon perhaps you might like to donate a cake for dessert. Cakes may be dropped off at the parish office Wednesday, March 13 th or Thursday, March 14 th. Thank you for your assistance with this traditional Lenten activity.

3 2019 PARISH EASTER BAKE SALE All parishioners are invited to share their time and talent by participating in our parish bake sale. The schedule is as follows: Saturday, March 30 th at 9 AM: Hall set-up will take place (men we need your muscles!). Sunday, March 31 st at 11 AM: Measure ingredients and clean and grind nuts. The reading from Romans refers us to our prayer, reminding us that The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart... For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:8, 13). These are comforting words, and encourage us to ask God for what we need and to aid us in our prayer. Finally, the Gospel of Luke shows us a fasting Jesus, who was tempted as we are, and who knows what it means to be human. Someone once said that temptation arises when you re tired and weary, and the devil comes along and makes a perfectly reasonable suggestion. Jesus shows us that, with his help, we too can overcome our temptations, reasonable as they may sound.
