As her reading proceeded, she became more interested in the life of Jesus. Suddenly, she ran out of her room crying hysterically. She ran into the arms of her alarmed mom. She burst out, They killed Him! They killed Him! Her mother comforted her and whispered in her ear, It s OK. Now, go back to your room and read what happened next. We know the rest of the story. The death of Jesus was not the end in fact there is one more chapter about the victory of Jesus over sin and death and this is the Good news of Easter which is the core of our faith. The truth is that our everyday living as Christians revolves around our response to this truth: Jesus is ALIVE! He conquered death, rose again, and proved to us that there is life after death. Easter is the celebration of the reality that Jesus lives among us and within us right here and now. There is no need to worry nor to fear. With Jesus, we know that we are on a journey, not to sunset, but to sunrise to eternal life with Him. It is an invitation for all of us to live like people who believe in a glorious future. This will give us better perspective about life and the reason why we are here. Let us not forget that we are a Resurrection people. Our community takes pride in taking the name Resurrection Parish which should speak a lot about us. We are a community rejoicing on the Resurrection of the Lord and basking in the hope of the glorious events to come. Here and now, we have the opportunity to manifest that hope that we have in our hearts by living as God s children in the spirit of love, unity, charity and concern for one another. Today is our Feast Day! We are a community celebrating the new life brought about by Jesus resurrection, and it should manifest in the way we live as brothers and sisters, as one family of God here at Resurrection Parish. By living in the spirit of love, we show our faith in Jesus victory over evil and death. We will overcome division and anger, pride and hatred, and we will bask in the joy brought about by this day when Jesus conquered all evil. Only goodness prevails. So again, we sing: This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad. Amen. Alleluia! A BLESSED EASTER TO ALL! GOD LOVES YOU ALL VERY DEARLY. In Christ, FR. ROMY

4 he stone from the tomb is rolled away. Christ, the Lamb of God, redeems the sheep. The Prince of life, who died, now lives forever. Death is swallowed up by the grave and Life itself comes forth from the tomb. As the psalmist writes: "The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. By the LORD has this been done; it is wonderful in our eyes" (Ps 118:22-23). We have grown up with the notion of resurrection. The rising of Christ has been part of our religious upbringing. It is so much a part of our culture that the mystery of this great event may escape us. But imagine Mary Magdalene coming to the tomb early in the morning and inding the body of Jesus gone. Then Peter and the other disciple run to the tomb after she brings them the news. The Gospel makes it clear that they did not understand the Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead. They must have felt their world shaken apart by this great mystery! And here we are, two thousand years later, calmly proclaiming, "He suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day." This incredible mystery, this miraculous event, this saving action that we celebrate on this feast is the most incredible thing to happen since the foundation of the world. The Lord has been raised from the tomb and he lives in our midst. Just as the Resurrection turned over the lives of the disciples and changed them forever, so too does the rising of Christ from the dead make a difference in our lives. Because he lives we can be free from the power of sin. The living Christ gives us the Spirit that empowers us to act in his name and to live like him, illed with life and love. The good news today is that we have reached 95% of our parish goal of $60,000. Currently 185 families have pledged $56,591 toward the diocesan appeal. With envelopes and online pledges we hope to make our goal soon. Since the diocesan report each week does not arrive until after the deadline for sending out bulletin in, the most current info will always be the chart in the glass bulletin board outside. oday, Easter Sunday, we celebrate the 46 th anniversary of our parish. As is traditional, we celebrated the Sunrise Mass early this morning and also had the customary anniversary cake served by several of our founding members. We are grateful for all in our parish family who honor the traditions of the past, who share these with our newer members, and who look forward to the creation of even more traditions as you, our newer members become involved in the life of the parish. We thank all who donated to our Flower collection. This collection covers all our liturgical de cor from the beginning of the Lenten season until Thanksgiving. We remember in prayer all those named and unnamed on the Easter lower envelopes. Unique to Resurrection parish is our outdoor Resurrection Stations. These commemorate the events that occurred from the Resurrection onward. What a beautiful way to celebrate the Easter season. We invite you to explore the Garden stations. Booklets are available in the of ice or Church for your prayer usage. Finally, this is an early deadline. In the next couple of weeks, we will be able to provide you with the igures of the various collections and Easter.
