3 PARISH LIFE Page 3 TODAY S READINGS First Reading Second Reading Gospel Reading Nehemiah 8:2-4a, 5-6, Corinthians 12:12-30 Luke 1:1-4; 4:14-21 Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, A Note from Father Munro This year, 2016, is a special year for our Church as we reflect, celebrate and take action in response to Pope Francis call for the universal church to participate in an Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy. We are reminded that we must be welcoming and open to all who seek God s mercy. We are called by Christ to receive His mercy, share it with others, and perform charitable acts and works of mercy in a special way this year. The 2016 Diocesan Services Appeal, We Are Called, is an opportunity for all of us to financially support the good works of our Diocese. As you will see during our video at Mass today, the funds received through the DSA provide support to essential needs of our Diocese including Catholic Charities services, Catholic Education, Faith Formation and Seminarian and Diaconate Formation; just to name a few. These critical ministries and services are only made possible by the financial generosity of the faithful. You will receive additional information in the coming weeks. Please join together in prayer that we may all share our gifts, talents and treasures in supporting our 2016 Diocesan Services Appeal.
