3 PARISH LIFE Page 3 Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ., A Note from Father Munro Can you identify with Jesus in today s Gospel? Jesus at the age of twelve is on the verge of becoming a man in the Jewish society of his day. He and his parents have traveled to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover. After the departure of Mary and Joseph, Jesus remains behind in the Temple. There he amazes the religious teachers with his wisdom and intelligence. This week I ask you to spend some quiet time discerning what you can learn about Jesus in this story. Determine concrete ways you can put God first in your life. Jesus understood his relationship with God. It enabled him to grow in wisdom and age and grace. As we approach the new year, think about how you can follow Jesus advice in the coming year. How can this help you in your family life? Gather your family and together decide how you will make 2016 a year that is filled with faith, hope and love for your family, friends and community. Allow Jesus to be your rock and your strength throughout the new year. On behalf of myself, our Priests, Deacon and staff, I wish you a very Blessed and Happy New Year! We have been given the great gift of love by Jesus our Savior as well as a sacred responsibility to show others how the mystery and love of God is among us. During the season of Christmas we would like to place our needs and petitions for intercession on the altar as we join together in prayer. We respectfully request a suggested donation of $50 to purchase a poinsettia for our altar. Your poinsettia will be slated for your intention or in memory of a loved one who has gone before us. With all your support council 8419 was able to provide services, money, toys and much more to our community. Each of you helped in showing your love and contributions to our success. We were able to provide funds to Palms West Oncology, Renewal Coalition in Tequesta FL, (This organization provides a week stay for active military men and women and their families. These military personnel were injured. The coalition flies in the families from various military bases). Our council has provided and served these families dinners and support. We are able to provide toys at Christmas to the children at Palms West Hospital with Santa. Provide time and gift giving at Noreen McKeen Residency, NuVista facility, private school for the handicapped. On Dec. 19, our council with your support will be giving 93 bikes to Pahokee, Belle Glade and Wellington families in conjunction with Project 425, Mike Carroll, and his military trucks, St. Rita Parish, St. Mary s Parish and St. Philip Benizi. These are just a few of our accomplishments in giving back to the community in If it was not for you, St Rita Council 8419, could not have accomplished this.
