1 Our Vision: A world where people experience God s love and are made whole. Our Mission: To share love of Jesus through compassion, inclusivity, creativity and learning. Evensong 8 February :15 p.m.
2 Evensong Thursday in Fifth Week of Epiphany 8 February :15 pm Welcome Grace Cadral. Choral Evensong marks end of working day and prepares for approaching night. The roots of this service come out of ancient monastic traditions of Christian prayer. Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury in 16th century, created this form as part of simplification of services within newly-reformed Church of England. The Episcopal Church, as part of worldwide Anglican Communion, has inherited this pattern of evening prayer. In this service we are invited reflect on business of past day, pray for world and for ourselves, and commend all in God s hands as words of Holy Scripture are said and sung. The beauty of music is offered help us set our lives in light of eternity; same light which dwelt among us in Jesus, and which now illuminates us by Spirit. May this service be a blessing you. When Aaron and all Israelites saw Moses, skin of his face was shining, and y were afraid come near him. But Moses called m; and Aaron and all leaders of congregation returned him, and Moses spoke with m. Afterwards all Israelites came near, and he gave m in commandment all that Lord had spoken with him on Mount Sinai. When Moses had finished speaking with m, he put a veil on his face; but whenever Moses went in before Lord speak with him, he would take veil off, until he came out; and when he came out, and ld Israelites what he had been commanded, Israelites would see face of Moses, that skin of his face was shining; and Moses would put veil on his face again, until he went in speak with him. Luke 9:28-36 About eight days after se sayings Jesus ok with him Peter and John and James, and went up on mountain pray. And while he was praying, appearance of his face changed, and his clos became dazzling white. Suddenly y saw two men, Moses and Elijah, talking him. They appeared in glory and were speaking of his departure, which he was about accomplish at Jerusalem. Now Peter and his companions were weighed down with sleep; but since y had stayed awake, y saw his glory and two men who sod with him. Just as y were leaving him, Peter said Jesus, Master, it is good for us be here; let us make three dwellings, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah not knowing what he said. While he was saying this, a cloud came and overshadowed m; and y were terrified as y entered cloud. Then from cloud came a voice that said, This is my Son, my Chosen; listen him! When voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. And y kept silent and in those days ld no one any of things y had seen. Serving Assembly Officiant Homilist Prayers Musicians The Very Rev.
