5 Why were the saints saints? Because they were cheerful when it was difficult to be cheerful, patient when it was difficult to be patient; and because they pushed on when they wanted to stand still, and kept silent when they wanted to talk, and were agreeable when they wanted to be disagreeable. That was all. It was quite simple and always will be. Quote: Unknown source

A light luncheon will be made available. Please join us for this important discussion and time of decision making. Coffee Hour This is an appeal to you all to consider whether you might be able to help with this part of St. John's Hospitality Ministry. We all enjoy our Sunday morning coffee hour, however we are in desperate need of HELP! The number of teams offering this service has diminished over the past year and we are down to 8 groups. A group consists of 2-3 people who will set up the coffee for the a.m. service. We will provide 'training ' and instructions for each of you. All the supplies for Coffee Hour are contributed by the A.C.W. If you feel this is a way you could help please contact Maureen Lichti at or Enid Emery at We have also placed a sign-up sheet on the Narthex table. Thank you.

8 Last Sunday's Spaghettini Luncheon The spaghettini luncheon following last Sunday's 10:00 am service proved an appetizing event for the many who partook of pasta, sauce, salad, and wine. Al and Charles would like to thank their reliable Pasta Posse of Pamela and Susan as well as the many others who donated time and resources. And to those who stayed behind to clean up, we extend many thanks. Mille grazie a tutti! For those who wish to savour Uncle Leo's meat sauce once again, 500 ml containers of frozen sauce are available from the kitchen for the low price of $2 each. Please see Al or Charles following today's service.
