All are encouraged to receive from the chalice or with bread alone, and to refrain from intinction (dipping the wafer in the chalice). 5 The Division of Christian Formation invites you to - A Parish Lenten Retreat - At Mount Carmel Spiritual Centre, Niagara Falls Saturday, March 3rd Leaving Burlington at 9 A.M. and returning about 4 P.M. Our retreat leader will be a Carmelite Priest, Fr. Robert Carroll, O. Carm., Ph.D. We will consider two Gospel Stories: The woman at the well in Samaria and Lazarus and the tomb. Some of the older children are attempting to learn the guitar or electric keyboard whilst others enjoy sports including volley ball, soccer and rugby. Several girls sew and produce beautiful embroidery and the younger children create their own games which are fun to watch. Please remember the children of Madagascar and Mary in your thoughts and prayers. COMING HOME The Spirituality of the Return of the Prodigal Son Reflecting on the Gospel, The Painting and our own personal experience. 4 week Workshop in Lent Thurs., March 7:30pm. Part of the workshop will include reading The Return of the Prodigal Son by Henri Nouwen. This workshop will use the practice of Lectio Divina (sacred reading) with meditative prayer, story sharing and journaling. Near the end of the Pancake Supper, Feb. 21st, Canon Stuart will be having a small liturgy & burning of the palms outside the parish hall. If you have palm crosses or palm branches from last year, you can bring them to the office prior to the 21st or bring them with you to the pancake supper.
