On this Second Sunday of the Great Fast, we honor a great defender of the faith, St. Gregory Palamas. He is known for teaching a proper understanding of God s grace, specifically how it assists the Christian believer in growth towards God. God s grace is a gift from God alone, but through this freely-given grace, mankind grows illumined and in a greater likeness to the Creator. May our Lord not turn away His grace from us, but rather, enlighten us all!

3 THE GREAT FAST: A REMINDER THAT CONFESSIONS ARE AVAILABLE Fr. William will be available for a few confessions 15 min. before Liturgy on Sundays, before and after Lenten services, and by appointment throughout the week. All are encouraged to also attend Deanery Mission services and make confessions before or after. Let us begin to shine in spirit once again, being made free of the weight and stain of our own faults! Also, in order to make sure those who are setting up have little to do and can attend Liturgy from beginning to end, please prepare your food on a disposable plate/platter.
