2 PENTECOST SUNDAY MAY 20, 2018 REFLECTION - In Acts, the coming of the Holy Spirit is described as a noise like a strong driving wind (Acts 2:2). The wind is an appropriate image. We cannot see the wind, but we can feel it. We can see its effects, from gently blowing leaves on a tree to the heavy winds of a tornado. Similarly, we cannot see the Spirit. But we feel the effect of the Spirit, whether a gentle nudge to reach out or speak out when we re reluctant to do so or a momentous decision to change our life. ST. Raffle Results: St. Rose School raised $4, through 2018 raffle ticket sales. Proceeds directed towards student books and supplies. These items will be displayed on the altar during adoration for people to look at in the Church. One chalice in 99 years old and another chalice is over 50 years old. Thank You. 50TH ANNIVERSARY: Father Jim McCluskey (Father Mac) is celebrating his 50th Anniversary of Ordination this year. He will celebrate June 10, 2018 with 10:00am Mass at St. Mary's in Wayne (412 E 8th) followed by a short reception. There will also be an Open House at the Wayne Volunteer Fire Hall at 510 Tomar Drive in Wayne from 2:00-4:00pm. Everyone is welcome! ST. We pray O Lord that the future we plan, will be the future you promise us. Enliven us with your Spirit; keep us eager to accept the challenge of the Gospel, that our Parishes and Deanery may be a vibrant Church; where you nourish and unite us through the Eucharist, we encounter Jesus in many ways and through many people; especially through the Sacraments and the Proclamation of your Good News. We also pray that our Parishes form and equip us to be disciples and guide us in living lives of mercy with and for each other. Risen Lord, guide us in our planning for the Rural North Central Deanery. We ask all this in your name, Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
