At the end of every fiscal year, a full financial statement is published in our Parish bulletin. ================== St. Kevin's Catholic Women's League Christmas Tea Sunday November 13, 2016 Donation Box If you have any donations for the following tables - "new" items for the Penny Table, Scratch Tickets for our Christmas Wreath, or Sewing/Knitting for the Craft Table, please bring them to the Church. You will find a Box in the Church Hall for your items. We would appreciate items in by November 6th, except the baking. Tea Conveners: Gail Collins Anne Marie Duff HOLY HOUR: There will be a Holy Hour on Thursday morning, immediately following Mass this week, at Our Lady of Peace Site. The hour is marked by the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, time for silent prayer, and concluding with Benediction. Come for all or a part of this time. SPECIAL RETREAT: I Am Mercy to be held November 11 & 12, 2016 at Holy Redeemer Church. Bishop Marcel invites all those who are able to make this retreat in this year of Mercy. It's that time of year again and the penny sale is coming fast. This year the Christmas Tea is November 6th and we are looking for gifts for the penny sale table. 5 Samaritan s Purse Christmas Child boxes are here and need to be returned by Sunday November 11 th. Our Small Group - 'The Apples of Abba's Eye' will meet every second Thursday commencing on October 13th, 10:00, St. Kevin's Boardroom. Open to all who wish to join. Volunteers needed A new season has begun! St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, St Kevin's Conference, continues to thrive, helping people in all possible ways providing food, clothing, furniture, yes even Halloween costumes and Knick Knacks. We are always grateful for all your donations. At this time we are in need of VOLUNTEERS to help us further our mission. We need people to stock shelves, sort and put clothes on the racks, clean and whatever else our manager needs. If you can spare, one hour, a few hours or a day please come join us to help those in need. Our founder Frederick Ozanam always found ways to uplift the poor. If you are unable to volunteer at this time please pray for us that we may find the strength to continue Christ's mission. We are located at 2605 Hwy 69 North. 6 RECONCILIATION AND HOLY COMMUNION: This weekend marks the beginning of the journey towards the Sacraments of Initiation for many of the young people of our Parish. Please keep them in your prayers as they prepare to celebrate Reconciliation later this fall, and then to enter into a Eucharistic relationship with the Lord beginning around next Easter. THE NAME OF GOD IS MERCY - An interfaith dialogue and reflection for our times. Three perspectives: Jewish, Christian, Islamic. AT ISLAMIC ASSOCIATION MOSQUE, 755 Churchill Ave. on Sunday October 16, 2016 from 2 4 pm. Free will offering for Sudbury Food Bank. THEOLOGY ON TAP: This casual approach to faith discussion will continue on Wednesday night this week at 7pm. Our topic of discussion will be: What does it mean that the Bible is the inspired word of God? Everyone is welcome to join in this evening of discussion. Fr. Michael will contribute as one resource, but everyone is invited to participate. Then again, if you wish to simply sit and listen, that is fine too. This will be our final session of Theology on Tap until the spring. Brewed and Steeped Theology will take its place, resuming on Tuesday mornings, following Mass in Capreol, beginning on November 1 st. 7 VACANCY ON THE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL: For the past year, and continuing today, there is one vacancy on the Parish Pastoral Council for a representative from our St. Kevin s Site. If you think you might be interested in serving on this advisory body with the Pastor, please submit your name and contact information to Fr. Michael this month. Feel free to speak with any other Council member regarding their role. Their names are on the cover of this bulletin. Knight of Columbus Council 3866 BREAD & ROSES FOOD BANK One item we always need is INSTANT COFFEE any kind, any size, as the majority of clients have no coffee maker and so rely on instant.
