The best way to prepare for the end, is to be faithful now. When we live each day by the Word of God, and love one another as Jesus asks of us, the future will be nothing to fear. Our St. Vincent de Paul group met last week with a young lady who was starting her first full-time job after graduating from NWTC. Her parents were proud but unable to help her with transportation to her new job. Thanks to your help, we provided her with a $35 bus pass for the month of November. 3 More News & Updates Faith Formation Thanksgiving Break ~ Wed, Nov 21st ~ No Classes! Thanksgiving Day Masses: Wed 6pm at St. Mary of the Angels & Thurs 9am at Ss. Peter & Paul Divine Mercy Devotions The last Sunday of each month at 3:00pm: This month s Divine Mercy Holy Hour will be on Sunday, November 25th, at 3:00pm. The Steeple People Rides Again! Our first issue has been sent to our publisher for printing, and may or may not already be in the mail as you are reading this weekend s bulletin. If you haven t received it yet, please watch your mail over the next couple of days. Holiday printing schedules are already in effect, which could result in some delays with shipping and mailing. Everyone is welcome children must be accompanied by a parent. Family Rosary will not meet on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22nd. BREAKFAST WITH SANTA The annual Breakfast with Santa and Cookie Walk will be held on Sunday, December 2nd, from 8:00am to 12:00 Noon, in the Saints Peter & Paul Cafeteria. Enjoy a delicious breakfast including pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, coffee, milk and juice. Adults $7.00; Children ages 5-12 $3.00; and children under age 5 eat for FREE. Santa will be there to greet and visit with children of all ages, so bring your camera! Our Lady s Maidens and Knights of the Altar will have their famous Cookie Walk with many baked treats which can be purchased. Donations of baked treats will be greatly appreciated. They may be dropped off Saturday December 1st from 7am-9am in the school cafeteria, or on Sunday Morning after 700am. All proceeds to benefit parish youth. See You on Sunday, December 2nd! 4 REMEMBER: COFFEE & DONUTS THIS SUNDAY AFTER THE 10:00am MASS! Dear Parish Family & Friends, Welcome to the 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time. The month of November is the time when the Church prayerfully remembers those who have gone before us. We mourn their loss, we pray for their souls, we hope to be reunited with them when we ourselves die. As it is the end of the liturgical year (it will begin anew in two weeks with Advent), we also bring to mind the end of time. Though we cannot know the day nor the hour, our trust and hope is in the Lord. Let The Word Speak To You Today: The readings today focus on the end of time. Daniel prophesies about the resurrection of those who have already died, a radical notion in his day. The author of Hebrews emphasizes that Jesus' sacrifice on the cross atoned for our sins, for all people, for all time. In Mark s Gospel, Jesus warns His disciples of the terrible signs of the end of time, and reassures them that God's elect will be gathered from the ends of the earth. May these promises allow us to face the future with hope. Question of The Week: How does not knowing when the end will come change the way I live my life? Almighty and Eternal God, from whose love in Christ we cannot be parted, neither by death nor by life: Hear our prayers and thanksgivings for all whom we remember this month; fulfil in them the purpose of your love; and bring us all, with them, to your eternal joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. SOLEMNITY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY Each year, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day of Obligation and the Patronal Feastday of the USA. We remember that Mary, "full of grace" through God, was redeemed from the moment of her conception, and that the Father blessed Mary more than any other created human person with a special place in the heavens. This year is unique, as December 8TH falls on a Saturday. In order to celebrate this important feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as well as continue on our Advent journey as a Church - marked by 4 unique Sundays, we as Catholics participate in two Masses on the weekend of December 8th and 9th. Masses for the Immaculate Conception will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Angels at 6:00pm on Friday, Dec. 7th, And here at Ss. Peter & Paul on Saturday Dec. 8th at 8:30am. The 4pm Mass on Saturday, as well as the Masses on Sunday, will be celebrated for the 2nd. Week of Advent. Let us gather at either parish church to celebrate this doctrine of our faith. 5 Noticias Fiesta de San Juan Diego El Domingo 9 de Diciembre es la fiesta de San Juan Diego invitamos a los niños a venir vestidos de San Juan Diego y a las niñas a venir vestidas de nuestra Señora de Guadalupe para conmemorar la fiesta de San Juan Diego. Después de la Misa tendremos un convivio los invitamos a traer algo para compartir. Novena a nuestra Señora de Guadalupe La novena dará comienzo el día 3 de diciembre a las 6:00 pm, en el templo hasta el día 11 de diciembre el único cambio será el domingo 9 que la novena se rezara a las 12:00 del mediodía. Vengamos a venerar a nuestra Santísima Madre y a rogarle su protección por nuestras familias. Las Posadas gustaría apadrinar una posada. El día 16 de diciembre empezaremos con las posadas aquí en nuestra parroquia. Queremos invitar a as familias que les O si les gustaría juntarse con otras familias para hacerlo. El mes de noviembre es el momento en que la Iglesia recuerda en oración a los que nos han precedido. Lamentamos su pérdida, rezamos por sus almas, esperamos reunirnos con ellos cuando nosotros mismos muramos. Como es el fin del año litúrgico (comenzará nuevamente dentro de dos semanas con el Adviento), también recordamos el fin de los tiempos. Aunque no podemos saber ni el día ni la hora, nuestra confianza y esperanza está en el Señor. A medida que se acerca el Día de Acción de Gracias, haremos bien en pensar en los sacrificios que otros han hecho por nosotros. Deja que la Palabra de Dios te hable hoy Las lecturas de hoy se centran en el fin de los tiempos. Daniel profetiza acerca de la resurrección de aquellos que ya han muerto. El autor de Hebreos enfatiza que el sacrificio de Jesús en la cruz expió por nuestros pecados y por los pecados de todas las personas, para siempre. En el Evangelio de Marcos, Jesús advierte a sus discípulos de las terribles señales del fin de los tiempos y les asegura que los elegidos de Dios se reunirán desde los confines de la tierra.
