The number one am of commttee s supply regular appontments such as Sunday school teachers, regular song leaders, and or leadershp posts. They felt ths be most mportant mmedate phase of program. Secondly, a stepup n regard muscal groups was emphaszed. Ths nvolves organzng and tranng of quartets, tros, duets, nstrumentalsts, etc. To promote program, a conference of mnsters and church workers was held September 22 whch 15 mnsters and 8 or nterested people attended. The area of representaton ranged from Kelso,- Washngn Maron, Oregon. Professor Paul Mlls spoke concernng deputaton plans. The churches are encouraged take advantage of opportunty allow school gve -m assstance on days of specal emphass, such as youth Sunday, rally day and etc. In order secure a deputaton group t s advsed that an nvtaton be sent n advance f possble, although groups are workng on a "mnute-man" bass n case of an emergency. Forty-one Students respond In response musc dvson of program 41 students commtted mselves keep week-ends free from or oblgatons. Organzaton of many groups has been completed, each of whch are advsed practce ger not less than three hours a week. Those who have been placed n a tenatve group are: quartetslarry Ross, Wayne Cole, Nel Person, Arnold Lee; Davd Wng, Wlls Valech, Davd Cox, Bll Hopper; Mr. and Mrs. Wlls Valech and Mr. and Mrs. Davd Cox. formng a mxed quartet. Tros are Mardella Cogswell, Janette Had- George; Geneveve Mlls, Donna Jean Bngaman, DoMs Person, Lavelle Robson, Yvonne Hubbard, Alce Hodson. Don and Mel Lamm make up a vocal duet wth Margaret Hancuff, accompanst. One complete Gospel team has been formed. They are Dck Zeller, solost, Roly Hartley, trombonst, song leader, speaker, and Orvlle Wnters, trumpeter, song leader, and speaker. Accompansts for groups wll be chosen among Elwyne Delapp, Faye McCord, Ardeth Beals, Margaret Hancuff. Instrumentalsts are Chuck Tunng, trombone, Rosemary Ramsey, clarnet, Kara Newell, flute, Delores Hnkle, cello, Arnold Lee, voln. Los Burnett, mezzo-soprano wll be presented n her senor voce rectal n chapel of Wood-Mar hall. Mss Burnett, senor from Vancouver, Washngn, s a musc major whose man nterests are n voce and ory. As we journey along pathway of knowledge garng bouquets of wsdom here and re, we sometmes attempt sre se bts n a pressed, dred form as we would a wldflower. Perhaps truth s fresh and lovely when we frst glmpse t at a dstance. As we make our way through underbrush and weeds, through forest of doubt and sceptcsm, we near lovely flower of truth. As we come n clearng of realzaton, we stand amazed at delght and ecstasy of ths perfect blossom of lght. After gem has been taken n our possesson, we guard t carefully as we make our way onward n best meadows and valleys of knowledge. We have come furr now, and through stran and tenson of our journey, we notce that We have forgotten blossom wthn our arms. Now t s dred and faded unlovely useless. If only we had nourshed t at fountan of use and betterment! But t s o late, and as we cast t forlornly n a mound of brers and weeds, we feel saddened that we dd not care enough tend ts meager needs. Perhaps somewhere along path we wll come upon anor of ts speces and we resolve ths tme chersh our possesson and not let t de dejected, useless forgotten. College student freshman senor you are now n mdst of a refreshng forest of wsdom. Everythng s new and growng, alve and exctng. It s up you partake now whle your mnds are eager and wllng pluck. Do not allow poson vy of care and neglect rob you of treasures you may possess. George Fox College provdes an atmosphere of gudance and nspraton, but you are traveler. You wll be constantly surprsed and delghted at endless pleasures be experenced f you wll but gar whle blossoms are plentful and whle dews of dscovery have not been wred by scorchng heat of derelcton and ndfference. Theyre actually puttng us rght out n street wth no place goevery tme y rp anor board loose and throw t ground, house that has been home for us for so long becomes more dear me. Mama and I have had Hoover hall pretty much ourselves past few years. It was kna of lonesome at frst, but as our famly ncreased t became a very happy home. Now Mama and I and our ten chldren must leave. Every moment we stay w e are n greater danger of beng squashed by some workmens heavy foot or of beng decaptated by some fallng 2x4 or sheetng. When I was just a young bug, thngs were really exctng here. I remember one tme when I nearly drowned. I w a s standng back n corner of bathroom when two fellows dumped anor one n a tubful of cy water. Wow! The splash he made! A great bg drop of water ht me rght on head and almost knocked me out. I had swm lke mad make t back a crack n woodwork. Those were days! Ill never forget feasts we used have. Mama got so fat she could hardly get n her wngs. There w a s always someone n buldng wth cake, cookes or candy and re were always lots of crumbs for me carry home. These past years have been very poor scarcely a crumb dvde among our twelve mouths, but we love Hoover hall ts our only home we hereby fle legal bug protest aganst havng ts beloved walls rn down rght over our heads. No self respectng college bug can allow a thng lke that! Plunk! Oh, no! That board came from our lvng room floor -yre through! Well, Mama and I and our ten lttle ones are really gong have leave Kanyon hall, here we come. a small voce say, "Drat t, now Ill never know!" A few seconds later an agonzng groan brought roar complete slence. Upon furr nvestgaton, edrs found a deceasng termte, evcton vctm from Hoover Hall, kckng hs last kcks. Kneelng hear hs last utterances,, edrs report that lttle fellow had decded that hs Hoover home was unsafe and had journeyed ad buldng. Arrvng late at nght, he had contnued down stars where he heard voces. He carefully scurred n open door and started clmbng up wall survey hub-bub. He hadnt crawled far before he realzed that he was walkng on some wrtng whch sad: "Were workng on a Crescent for"...but by tme he had gotten word "for" hs lmp lttle legs just wouldnt go any furr. Dzzy and sck from hs long journey and tryng read enormous letters he spped rest. Just n someone screamed: "Were through and ts only three oclock!" Hs heart wouldnt take t!
