" wanted to be n mssons, but wasn't a pastor. Then found out the msson feld needed teachers," sad Matheny who became the junor hgh and hgh school teacher to a student body comprsed of SO mssonary chldren at a boardng school. "Teachng opened my eyes to sprtual poverty. returned on furlough, went to Southwestern Baptst Semnary and then served for three years as a navy chaplan." The Lord, however, dd not let the navy become a substtute for Matheny's msson call.' He went back to Peru wth a wfe and three chldren, and a fourth chld was born there. The Matheny chldren are now 7, S, 4 and. As a feld mssonary among the Spansh people, Matheny's goal was to get people saved and baptzed, to plant churches and to dscple Chrstans. A specal telecast was shown Dec. 3 called, "Ma Lee and the Murder of a Gentle People." The Old-Tme Gospel Hour s seen over 327 outlets. n that program Dr. Falwell tells of 30,000 refugees who have fled to freedom from Laos, Camboda and Vetnam. He sad, "n our lfetme there has been a genocde of over a mllon people n Southeast Asa." The story of Ma Lee, a sxyear-old refugee grl, was told on the telecast. Ma Lee's parents were chased out of Laos by the Communsts because they would not renounce Chrstanty. The specal telecast featured flmed segments of the refugee camps n North Thaland. Dr. Falwell's message focused attenton on the need of world mssons and Chrst's command to feed the hungry. Also seen and heard on the telecast was the story of Vang from Kong, a 2-year-old boy. When the Communsts came to hs vllage n Laos, hs father tred to arrange an escape and was shot. Vang Kong's mother ted hs three-month-old brother to hs back, and he swam the Mekong Rver to safety. "The purpose of ths specal telecast s to focus attenton on Southeast Asa," sad Dr. Falwell. "We want to broadcast the atroctes of Communsm and brng some relef to those who are sufferng n the refugee camds." Dr. Falwell announced that the Old-Tme Gospel Hour wll fund and dstrbute 40,000 blankets to adults n the refugee camps and gve a Chrstmas toy to each boy and grl. Food wll be dstrbuted so each famly can prepare a Chrstmas dnner. A muscal team of students Lberty Baptst College wll go to Thaland for the Chrstmas holdays and dstrbute the food. They wll also present programs n the refugee camps, sngng n the language of the people. Each refugee wll receve the Chrstmas story n Scrpture n hs own language. Authortes n the refugee camps have approved the project, notng that t wll gve hope to the refugees. People are packed nto.cramped areas and cannot get jobs or own property. Pastor nvted By Gov. HNDSON The bzarre and tragc events of the mass sucde of more than 900 members of the "People's Temple," followers of Rev. Jm Jones, have left many wonderng about the psychologcal nature of a relgous cult. People are askng such questons as: "How could they do such a thng?" and "How can one man control the total allegance of that many people?" The answers to these questons are not easy and they certanly do not allevate the panful agony of such a tragedy. Follwers of Jm Jones were attemptng to establsh an deal form of relgqus "communsm" n whch every member shared all thngs equally and n whch all races were truly equal. Lke many dealstc movements, ther "deals" were greater than ther practcal ablty to produce them. n tme the communal socety dsntegrated nto a totaltaran communty where fear ruled as the agent of suppresson of ndvdualsm. Thus, Jm Jones became a relgous and socal dctator who used ntmdaton to control hs followers. Hs tactcs grew out of the basc psychology of a cult. WE ALONE ARE SAVED Relgous cults dffer from denomnatons n that they are heterodox (heretcal) schsms from orthodox practces. Whle cults exst n vrtually every relgous socety, and take many vared forms, they all have one thng n common: the belef that they alone are the people of God. Whle belevers wthn tradtonal denomnatons have dfferent doctrnal vews and polty practces, they do not exclude all others from the fold of heaven. For example, a Baptst and a Methodst may dsagree on ther mode of baptsm, but they do not beleve that dfference determnes one's eternal destny. A Presbyteran and a Lutheran dffer on church government but do not reject each other as heretcal or "cultc." By contrast all cults beleve that they have the only true message of God and the only true way to heaven. n cultc thnkng one must be a member of the group n order to be "of God" and go to heaven. Ths s true of long-standng major cults (Jehovah's Wtnesses, Mormons, Chrstan Scence, Adventsts) as well as newly emergent cults (Sung Yung Moons' Unfcaton Church, the "Way," the "Chldren of God," etc.). Whle a cult may tolerate gnorance of ther vews on the part of the unnformed, they beleve that all who dsagree wth ther message wll ultmately be lost. THE CULTC MENTALTY Psychologcally all cults have thngs n common. Exclusve Salvaton: We are "saved" and of God, whle all other relgous movements are wrong and of Satan. Persecuton Complex: Snce we are radcally dfferent from all others, all people hate us and reject us. Cults expect "persecuton" and often antagonze t. Uncrtcal Allegance to Leadershp: All dsagreement s looked upon as a threat to the "purty" of the movement. Open and free dscusson of ssues s suppressed by leadershp. Thus, an atmosphere s created n whch the group must "prove" ther devoton to God by ther devoton to the leadershp of the cult. Such uncrtcal allegance produces a herarchy of control and stfles all creatvty wthn the group. Most cults do not normally resort to volence to hold ther members and use only socal pressure to produce conformty. Clam to Extra-Bblcal Revelaton: Every cult beleves that they alone have the true message of God. As a rule cults clam that only ther translaton of the Bble s nspred; only ther "prophet" has God's fnal message; they have the only true "key" to understandng the secret meanng of the Bble. God Needs Us: The dea s then developed that God can only accomplsh Hs ultmate purpose through our group, snce we alone are Hs people and understand Hs message. f our movement fals, God has faled. Hs success s lmted to our success. Wth ths basc mentalty a "cult" becomes a manufactured relgon of human effort wth a "messanc complex" (we alone can brng n the kngdom and save the world). Salvaton by works and allegance to the cult replace the doctrne of justfcaton by fath. THE JONESTOWN MASS SUCDE The mass sucde-murder of more than 900 of Jm Jones' followers at "Jonestown," Guyana, South Amerca, was the result of the cultc psychology. f we alone have the truth of God and the success of God's work depends upon us, then, f we fal, God has faled. He cannot do what we beleve He should do wthout us. Therefore, f we cannot do t, they ratonalze, we mght as well kll ourselves and go to heaven where we can do t! To be sure, the constant practcng of the mass sucde rtual by the members of the People's Temple helped nsure ts success, but t must be remembered that the desre for t was nstgated by the leaders who had already fallen vctm to the "cultc psychology." There s no easy soluton to'ths problem for the cultc mentalty that exsts wthn many relgons. Muslms stll execute those who depart from ther fath. Jewsh parents wll dsown a son who converts to Chrstanty. Durng the Mddle Ages the Roman Catholc nquston tortured and executed Protestant "heretcs." Anglcans persecuted Purtans and Purtans persecuted Separatsts. Even today, some evangelcal-fundamentalst Chrstans have cultc tendences... "f you are not of our ndependent group you are probably not saved." Certanly, the answer to extremst cults s not an over-reacton of ant-proselytzaton. Ejectng all mssonares and suppressng all evangelsm wll elmnate far more good than t wll prevent harm. n order to label "cults," the government would have to volate freedom of relgon. t must bcremembered that Chrstanty tself was consdered a "cult" (relgo llcta) n the Roman Empre. Freedom of relgous choce wll allow some bzarre optons, but t s certanly to be preferred over the totaltaran control of the Mddle Ages. HOW TO KEEP YOUR KDS FROM CULTS Most relgous cults prey upon the young and unnformed. The Apostle Paul urged Ttus (2:) to "Speak thou the thngs whch become sound doctrne." t was also Paul who warned: "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that whch we have preached unto you, let hm be accursed" (Gal. :8). n order to protect your famly from relgous cults and sprtual confuson, you need to know What you beleve and Why you beleve t. Secondly, you need to Practce what you beleve consstently. Your chldren wll not be mpressed wth the knd of Chrstanty that never reads the scrpture, rarely ever prays and lves n Lberty, Equalty, Socalsm Jm Jones, late leader of the People's Temple n Guyana, expressed a slogan for hs movement n the words, "Lberty, Equalty and Socalsm." Hs Marxst leanngs were socalstcally nspred. Snce many Chrstans have been deceved by hs clams, ths s a good opportunty to examne the communstc concept of "Lberty, Equalty and Socalsm." Some people have even mstakenly thought Jm Jones was a Chrstan, whch s not the fact. The communstc am s a classless socety. The only tme we are equal s at brth. One day when we stand before God, we wll agan be equal. The Bble teaches that men are equal n nature, but are dfferent n abltes. God gves dfferent gfts to dfferent ndvduals. Some are gven 0 talents, others fve and some only one talent. Also, God exhorts employers to properly treat hs employes, hence recognzng the dfference wthn socety between boss and worker. But remember the Scrpture teaches that wth greater ablty, there arses greater responsblty, "To whom much s gven, much s requred." Communsts are tryng to create a classless socety, but they are tryng to create t outsde of God's order. They appeal to the thrd world natons wth the slogan "Workers Unte." The Communst plan s to take from those who have possessons and gve to those who have none. But the Bble never teaches that. t teaches the value of work. A German merchant who was drven out of Laos told us that Communsts are lazy, "All they want to do s create commttees, they do not want to work." After surveyng what the Communsts dd to the busnesses he left behnd, the merchant sad, "The Communsts beleve n workng ther captves, they do not beleve n workng themselves." The servants were then to nvest the talents for the master. The landowner was to return at a later tme to examne ther work. The servants were exhorted to brng what they had receved to the landowner upon hs return. The applcaton shows both that the worker receved wages and that the landowner receved profts. Ths s obvously free enterprse or captalsm. The entre hertage of the sraeltes n the Old Testament was based on land ownershp by the trbe (famly). Ths nhertance was passed on from father to son. Many people mstakenly thnk the early Chrstans were communstc because they sold all that they had and lad t at the apostles' feet. God never taught ths practce - t was a foolsh decson. Twce, the other churches had to take up offerngs for the poor Chrstans at Jerusalem (Acts :27-30, 2:5, Cornthans 6:-3). These Chrstans needed to learn the lesson of Proverbs 30:25, where the ant was an example of those who lad up provsons for a future tme of need. f the Chrstans n Jerusalem had been good stewards of ther possessons, they would not have had to receve welfare from other churches. There s a dfference between freedom and lberty. Communsts offer freedom to those who are oppressed. Obvously, anyone who s sufferng wants freedom from oppresson, just as anyone who s sck wants to be well agan. But the Bble teaches lberty, the word that best descrbes the Unted States. Freedom mples no restrants and the natural man does not want to be bound by laws. He does not want anyone to tell hm what to do. So the Communst appeals to these desres, but does not delver on hs promses. Lberty has the opposte concept. Lberty dctates that a man must lve wthn the bounds of socety, for no man can lve alone. On Nov 4-Oth, wth Randy Hebod, Dave Holdren and the K Sngers, experenced my SECOND, beleve, genune, God-sent revval. Central Baptst Church has never experenced anythng just lke l. One had to be here to really know what 'm talkng about. My people, the K TEAM, vstors, everyone n town knew somethng unusual was takng place. Revval came to our church, our people, our cty. Three of our publc hgh schools were touched for God, over 4 decsons for Chrst n all three. Our own Ocala Chrstan Academy, a mnstry of Central Baptst Church, wll not forget for a long lme what happened to many of our students. The atttude and atmosphere that now prevals n our church s somethng that one usually talks about but never experences. thank God for such a dedcated group of young people. Dear Edjtor: Let me frst thank you for sendng the LBC Sngers to the Tr-Cty Bble Baptst Church. n all the sx years of my mnstry here n Somersworth, N.H., have never experenced the outpourng of God's power as dd durng the week of revval. The one thng that mpressed me the most s that t wasn't a temporary work that was done n the church. t has been about four weeks and revval contnues. The offerngs have jumped between $300 and $300 a week. The attendance has gone up 75 to 00, (last Sunday we were up over 200 n our attendance) and souls are beng saved every servce. 've baptzed about 60 folks snce the team was here also. The thng was so thrlled about was the work that God has done n the hearts of the church members. Frst of all, several were saved. As a result, there s a sprt n the church that have been prayng about for over 8 months. t s my opnon that some of the fnest people have ever met n my entre lfe are the members of the LBC Sngers. Ther sprt of cooperaton, ther wllngness to seek revval n ther own lves, and ther cheerful sprt were all an nspraton to me. Especally mpressed was by ther unquestonng obedence to leadershp. GEORGE SWEETNG By BOB HARRS As Dr. George Sweetng expounds the Word of God from the pulpt, hs whte har glstens and hs face shnes wth a glmmer that seems to be a reflecton of the glory of Ood. When the presdent of Moody Bble nsttute spoke Wednesday Nov. 29 at the Lberty Baptst College chapel and Thomas Road Baptst Church worshp servce, hs two purposes n preachng stood out: To see lost people saved To see saved people understand somethng about sanctfcaton. "The devl s opposed to prayer," he reterated as he preached from Acts 6. "He s ant-prayer. f he can get Chrstans to stop prayng, he has succeeded ndeed." A former cartoonst, Dr. Sweetng's parents came from Scotland; they were the frst ones n hs famly to be saved. Shortly after they were saved, Sweetng's father became closely dentfed wth a msson n Glasgow, Scotland, founded 00 years earler by Dwght L. Moody. Sweetng hmself was born n New Jersey 54 years ago. "As a teenager, came alve to my Chrstan responsbltes on Aug. 6, 94," he relates. "That August over three decades ago, n a specal church meetng, agreed to do the wll of God. (had) confessed my fath n Jesus Chrst whle stll a boy. But lke so many others, was selfsh and rebellous to the teachng of Scrpture. Ego was kng n my lfe." When he approached college age, hs father, nfluenced by Moody's msson, wanted hs son to go to "Mr. Moody's school" n Chcago -- the only name by whch he knew Moody Bble nsttute. So young George went. "Durng my student days at the Moody Bble nsttute, was serously ll, " Dr. Sweetng says. n fact, hs mssonary doctor, Ttus Johnson, explaned to hm that he had a tumor whch appeared to be malgnant. One operaton and 30 X-ray treatments later, Sweetng was told that the tumor could prove fatal, or at best he could never father chldren. Late 944, the eve of the second battle of the Phlppnes, 30 months after General Douglas MacArthur was forced to abandon the sland n the face of the Japanese onslaught. The place? A terrble bloodbath n the mddle of the Pacfc, a 50-foot long amphbous U.S. Navy gunboat guardng the Alled nvason fleet at Marwelles Harbor at the tp of the Bataan Pennsula. The next day, the fleet would nvade Corregdor. A young seaman slept n hs quarters below. He joned the Navy n the mddle of the war for the glory; "Everyone wanted to be n," he later sad. "f you could see lghtnng and hear thunder, you were n." He dd not know how to swm. When he fnshed hgh school, when he enlsted n the Navy, when t came to passng the swmmng test, he had a frend go n, pass t for hm, and wrte down hs name. The gunboat went all the way across the Pacfc for the planned nvason. Whle t passed Hawa, the young seaman, Harold McNabb of Baton 'Rouge, La., was called of the Lord to preach the Gospel. He laughed t off, but the feelng perssted. On the eve of battle, he slept wthout hs lfe jacket nearby - a curously unusual and foolhardy thng for hm to do so. Suddenly, whle the boat was statoned n the harbor, t was attacked by more than 20 Japanese torpedoes. The gunboat was blown up and started snkng 500 yards from shore. Harold McNabb was^ knocked aganst the wall of hs cabn on hs back. Awakened to realty, he heard a voce wth stngng words: "f you don't preach, 'm gong to take you out of here and put somebody n your shoes who wll." "Lord," the seaman repled, "f you'll let me lve through ths, 'll preach." Forcng hs way to the upper deck, McNabb and a mate found a large box. They clung to t as the shp went down. Then the Japanese started shootng at them. McNabb repeated hs prayer. Fve hundred yards later, Harold McNabb was ready to preach. " can understand now why Jonah never looked back," he sad. McNabb left the war, ganed some 27 years of pastorng and counselng experence, and then the Lord led hm nto the hghest fulfllment of hs call -- teachng others to preach at Lberty Baptst Semnary. McNabb was born-agan when he was nne-years old. When he was 6, he started lstenng to the Old Fashoned Revval Hour on rado wth Dr. Charles E. Fuller. The Lord convcted hm of hs wanderng, and he rededcated hs lfe to Chrst. But when he fnshed hgh school, the son of a lower mddle class famly wanted to be n the great war. t was prestgous, somethng whch would be remembered for the rest of hs lfe. When t was over, McNabb came home and went back to college. He also started fulfllng hs call from God mmedately. He enrolled at the Southeastern Lousana Unversty n Hammond and also pastored a large country church of about 500 members. n hs junor year, he marred hs wfe Carmen. He receved hs Bachelor of Arts degree n soral scence n 95. McNabb then changed churches. He was called to another country church 75 mles away from New Orleans. Hs schoolng then was "nterrupted" by a daughter -Lndy. But McNabb went on to get a Master of Relgous Educaton degree from the New Orleans semnary n 959, and after that he and Carmen had a son -- Davd. Durng hs work for the M.R.E., McNabb's schedule was formdable. At ths tme he pastored a church 00 mles away from New Orleans. Carmen fathfully typed up hs papers after he pounded out the research and organzaton hmself, but he averaged less than four hours of sleep per nght. t caused hm eventually to "run out of gas," and nearly wrecked hs health for good. He had to convalesce for a year after recevng the degree. McNabb does not recommend hs students to do the same thng. He 'Shares the same vews as other semnary professors, who beleve a student should concentrate only on hs studes whle n semnary and not attempt to pastor untl after he gets out. But McNabb was not fnshed. After a year, he went back to New Orleans to get hs doctor of educaton degree. He fnshed the research for hs degree n two and a half years, completng hs dssertaton n 963. He specalzed n the hsto y and phlosophy of Chrstan educaton and youth psychology and he mlnored n counselng and church admnstraton. McNabb consdered hs setup deal. " had a very understandng church," he sad. "They wanted ther pastor educated. So they would put up wth my preachng and vstng over the weekends, and then let me go off to semnary durng the week." Of hs several pastorates, the two he looks most fondly back on are the Frst Baptst Church of Opelousas, where he stayed from 964 to 969, and Bellare Baptst Church n Bosser Cty, where he led from 970 untl he came to Lynchburg n 976. He saw hs church n Opelousas assume a place of leadershp n the town t had not had before. He also launched a rado mnstry. Bellare was located two blocks from the Barksdale Ar Base, across the Red Rver from Shreveport. When the McNabbs arrved, t was a msson church; the mother church was debatng whether or not to close t; t was decded to keep t open just before callng McNabb. Despte a large varety of mltary famles whch contrbuted to a large turnover of membershp, McNabb trpled the sze of both the attendance and the budget durng hs tenure. To teach a college sgn language claw. To major n psychology and Bble and doctrne. To supervse the growng Old-Tme Gospel Hour data preparaton department. And, by the way, see her prayers answered wth total Chrstan servce and commtment. Mrs. Sandra Wtt s a homegrown natve of Lynchburg, one of Vrgna's most beautful ctes. Untl the wnter of 967, she had nether ntenton nor thoughts about Chrstan servce. However, Mrs. Wtt accepted the nvtaton of a Chrstan frend to attend a nghtly evangelstc servce at Thomas Road Baptst Church. She confessed to havng watched Dr. Jerry Falwell on televson for about a year and was curous about the message he preached. She attended the frst servce manly to see what the "televson preacher" looked lke - n person. She contnued to attend servces regularly at 70 Thomas Road and she wanted to be saved. But she felt that she was "too bad" for God to help. Fnally,, sx months later, she walked down the church asle and "gave her heart to Jesus." Sandra mmmedately began prayng for a place of servce. For an entre year she prayed that God would gve her a place of full-tme Chrstan servce. The answer came. n 968, Don Cabbage of the Bll Rce Ranch came to TRBC to teach an n-depth two-week sgn language class. Sandra remembered a deaf woman at the factory where they worked. Fellow employes never tred to communcate wth the deaf woman unless they wanted her to contrbute to a money collecton. Sandra wanted to be able to "talk" wth her. She wrote a note and asked her to attend the sgn language class. She was the frst of many deaf to be saved at Thomas Road. After Cabbage left, a fellow TRBC member, Earl Burks, became the nterpreter for the TRBC deaf mnstry. Sandra helped wth the mnstry but she dd not nterpret. Her desre was smply to be a frend to the deaf. However, one Wednesday nght the nterpreter for the servce wasn't present and the the deaf nssted that Sandra do the nterpretng. She could not dsappont her frends and she has not sat down snce. Presently under the drecton c>f Sue Wllmngton, Sandra contnues to nterpret the servces. She has taught 3 or 4 sgn language classes, some n other churches. She has been Evenng Classes Set n 5 Ctes Dr. Jerry Falwell has announced that Lberty Bble nsttute wll now offer an evenng Bble nsttute n fve Vrgna ctes. Startng n August 979, the evenng Bble nsttute wll present the general Bble course n Lynchburg, Charlottesvlle, Danvlle, Rchmond and Roanoke. A student of the evenng school wll attend classes two nghts each week. The counterpart of the two-year program wll be completed n three years n the evenng nsttute. The course wll cover the Bble completely n two ways: chronologcally and doctrnally. called to doctors' offces and hosptals to help wth deaf patents. She asssts n plannng partes and outngs for TRBC deaf and hard of hearng members. She helps teach the deaf Sunday School class. n 97, Sandra Wtt enrolled as one of LBC's frst-year students. She majored n psychology but Bble and doctrne were ha favorte courses. The facltes were not good, bathrooms were hard to come by and ar condtonng dd not exst, but the poneerng sprt and enthusasm of the students was overwhelmng. Whle n school, Sandra worked part-tme n the TRBC day care center. Later she worked under Rev. J.O. Grooms n the soul-wnnng department. n May 973, when the church had an openng n the data processng department, she began workng n edtng, preparng data for keypunchers. She became a supervsor n January 974. The OTGH data preparaton department has grown substantally snce those early years. The orgnal department has subsequently been dvded nto three separate departments: edt, mal readng and edt-merge. Sandra supervses the edt-merge department whch does the fnal computer adjustments for the fles. After all the work has been completed by keypunch, edtmerge wll verfy all the documents. The vctory ended a 2-year regn by host team Taylor Unversty as champons of ts own tourney n ndana. Frday nght, Dec., the Flames faced Maron College. Offcal polls showed LBC as a 22 pont underdog. When the fnal buzzer sounded the team Jad upset ther opponents, Karl Hess 5*" junor led the Flames' attack wth 27 ponts. Our two tme Natonal Chrstan College Athletc Assocaton Champons are back ths year wth a lot of new talent and a most demandng schedule. Competton s keen ths year as the teams they encounter range from eght to 20,000 students. The wrestlers repeated as champons of the North Carolna A&T Tournament held before the Thanksgvng break. One hundred and ffty wrestlers competed n the event. LBC fnshed the tourney wth a total of 22 ponts for a vctory over second place Ctadel who fnshed second wth 60 ponts. The wrestlng program s only fve years old. Coach Bob Bonhem recollects that the team started wth zero. There were no mats for practce. The men worked out n the grass at Treasure sland. There was no salary for the coach. The team provded ts own transportaton. Wth the passng of tme the school's admnstraton has corrected the stuaton. The team owns two new mats. There s a wrestlng room n the new gym. Coach Bonhem sad that when the team moves nto ts new home n January t wll have one of the best equpped schools n Vrgna. Coach Bonhem talked canddly about the wrestlng program. Frst, there s the goal to have an outstandng wrestlng team. The team s buldng n order to become the "top Chrstan team n the country." The coaches' vson sees a day when LBC can partcpate n Dvson competton aganst powers such as Oho State, Mchgan and Notre Dame. The program ths year s off to a good start although there are only four returnng lettermen. Wrestlng at 26 pounds s Rob Hetrck who fnshed fourth n NCCAA fnals last year. Once agan the press saw LBC as the underdogs. The Flames, however, soundly defeated ther opponents by a 30 pont margn, Coach Gbson descrbed the team's effort as "an almost flawless game." The Flames set a school record as they shot 68 per cent from the feld. Coach Gbson asserts "68 per cent s a phenomenal shootng percentage!" Ed Vckers led the scorng wth 35 ponts for the evenng. Karl Hess was a close second wth 3 ponts. The vctory evened the Flames' season record at 4-4. Each year at the Taylor Unversty nvtatonal an award s gven for the "most valuable player" for the tournament. Ths year's MVP was LBC's Ed Vckers. The women's volleyball team fnshed an mcouragng season wth 9 wns aganst eght losses. The season provded volleyball fans wth encounters n Dvson collegate competton. Coach Brenda Bonhem attrbutes the team's success to "many hours of dedcated tranng" by a fne group of dscplned athletes. The season ended Nov. 3 and 4 wth the Vrgna State Tournament. Ten colleges from NCAA Dvson H came to Lynchburg to seek the Champonshp. Partcpatng teams were: Vrgna ntermont, Lynchburg College, Mary Washngton College, Hampton nsttute, Bluefeld College, Emory and Henry, Chrstopher Newport, Ferrum, RandolphMacon Women's College and Lberty Baptst College.
