Ths beach Creek s not very far from the..rkansaa lae.t must be about twenty mles. It used to be called Nasheba County then but t s now a part of McCurtan County and t a rght n the mountans and some of the mountans the*e are the bggest you ever saw; there used to be fne grass there when t was open range and no fences thereabout. The settlers all hf.d about four or for ther forms; they used to rase pe ty of corn to feed themselves through the wnter nd most of them had cattle, hogs ftad other thngs they needed on the furms; theyostly lved out of the woods for there was lots of game for them to kll, taey never klled ther hogs much, n fact, they never put up any meat for ther use for the wnter except that they would kll a hog one n a whle for fresh neat, / rt tnt t»ae cattle ad hogs were not worth any thng; there was no market for them so the settlers just kept them and let them de wth old age; we h d many cattle

I used to attend the Indan camp meetngs when they wo Id camp and feed all the people who came to attend the meetng and I have attended ther cres; they would preach the memoral semor and they would sometmes have a cry n the church and sometmes they would, have t at tbs ;;rave of the eeceased. They v.-oud buld a small house over the grave out of togs and put a cover over t and n about fve or sx months t ey would have thar cry at the grave ad every onv.wfco w?s there took aart n t; t was a very solemn affar to see them cry. I have lved among the Choctaw trbe of Indans ever snce I have been n the Naton, and I have traded wth them and have attended ther meetngs ana rave attended ther cres and ther ball games, tut I never was bothered by them n the least; they have alw y3 been my fre: ds and I have been ther frend ever snce I have been here and my experence wth them h-<s been os g od as any one could expect of any trbe of people, and they are honest es can be n ther dealngs wth other people ar.d anong themselves.
