The two were believed have been in a relationship and the woman had given him money. But when she asked Marimuthu to return the money he refused. Marimuthu then started avoiding her, said a police officer. Marimuthu allegedly attacked Geetha when she again asked for the money. Further investigation is on. FREE

Sir, There has been waterlogging in Nagathamman Koil Street Extn (LIC Colony 2nd Street), West Mambalam-Ashok Nagar during the past 3 years even during short spells of rain. It is a dead-end street behind Mettupalayam Nagathamman Temple which is only 130 ft. long. The stagnant water does not drain off but has to evaporate. As the street is lower than that of the adjoining street, water from this street also flows into our street and adds to the stagnation. There are 15 houses in our street most of which are occupied by senior citizens who have been living here for 35 years. They have to wade through the pool of water whenever they venture out. They also face the threat of water-borne diseases. Our street was last relaid in 2014 with a thin layer of tar. We have met the Asst. Engineer (Division 140) a number of times over the past 3 years. He has been promising that our street will be re-laid as sanction has been accorded long ago but nothing has happened. Ph: , MTC free tokens for senior citizens Sir, MTC issues 10 free travel tokens for a month every 3 months to senior citizens based on a Travel Card it issues after checking Aadhaar and ration cards with copies. Why must users show Aadhaar and ration cards and give copies every time tokens are sought? They often forget to bring them and have to go back to get them resulting in waste of money, effort and time. Cannot MTC issue a card ticket with numerals for 30 days a quarter or 120 days annually? Conductors can punch one number for every trip. It saves cost of tokens and tickets and conductors time and effort to check the number of each token with that in the Travel Card. Does MTC want to count how many persons used tokens or number of tokens used? If not, let it issue card tickets instead of tokens. This system will avoid long queues, tiring wait, wastage of stationery, and save money. B. Raman, T. Nagar Unruly students crowd bus stop Sir, At Duraisamy Road bus stop a large number of students gather on the road and prevent free flow of traffic especially from 3.30 p.m to 4.30 p.m. They also display heroics by boarding buses on the run risking their lives. One or two traffic policemen should be posted at the spot to discipline the students. The school management should also educate the students suitably. The owners of the flats are therefore forced to buy water through tankers shelling out huge amounts of money. I came to occupy a flat only in August, but I had a rude shock when I was asked to pay Rs plus as shown by a meter just for 25 days. The residents association has been in constant touch/communication with the Asst. Engineers of Metrowater Board, Thambiah Street and K. K. Nagar. The engineers should detect leaks in the pipeline and carry out the work of repair/replacement to enable uninterrupted supply of water. While water tax / water charges have been paid by the flat owners in advance to avoid any penalty, what prevents Metrowater Board from carrying out repairs? N.
