Sunday is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. Service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of the most bacis convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God s Grace. Sunday, September 3 through Saturday, September 9 Stone Valley Parish Members take one of the suggestions below and make arrangements to help in a service project during this period of time. The comments were made by many about doing work projects and mission outreach locally and not outside the community, so here is your opportunity!!!!!!!! Take pictures and share your story with us for the next newsletter. -Help serve meal with God s Chuck Wagon that serves Monday- Friday, or help prepare at the Center in Shamokin in morning hours. -Prepare and serve a meal at the Ronald McDonald House or Care House on Geisinger Campus. These times must be reserved by our group. We plan the menu, prepare and serve at the House. -Help with a Monthly Community Meal in the Elizabethville area. Maybe after the experience we will want to join the Group of churches that are rotating hosts. -Help with the Human Service Center in Elizabethville. -Volunteer to help with residents at a personal care facility _Help someone in your neighborhood to get ready for winter, rake leaves, trim bushes, place mulch
