4 Missing You Cards. Just a gentle reminder that there are Missing You cards available in the attendance registers. We invite you to send a card or two to fellow congregants you haven't seen in awhile. Receipt of a card could be the prompt which helps someone return to more regular attendance at PCoB. This month the offertories will be arrangements on Brethren hymns or hymns arranged by a Brethren composer. The offertory this morning is "Move in Our Midst", an arrangement by Robert Lau. The format is theme and variations. You will hear the hymn tune, then four variations followed by an epilogue. In each variation the melody, harmonies, and mood will be different. Trevor Noah, author of the next Page Turner s book, Born a Crime, is a South African comedian who, in his words, became a chameleon. My color didn t change, but I could change your perception of my color. This book is one of the five that were picked by TIME for its 2017 summer selection. Conversation on this book will take place on Sunday, November 12, at 3:00 p.m. in the Parlor. All who enjoy reading are invited to give this book a try and join with the Page Turners! Congratulations to Scott & Deb Blouch on the birth of their grand daughter, Hannah Grace Cooke, on September 24. The new parents are Maggie & Andrew Cooke. Anticipating our Anniversary. In anticipation of our up-coming 125th Anniversary, we have begun displaying some of our congregational artifacts. The first two weeks focused on Love Feast, with the display table in the Fellowship Hall. The next two weeks focus on Women in the Church, with the display table in the Narthex. Please take a moment to browse. Join us for a Fundraising Buffet and Auction on Sunday, October 22, in Fellowship Hall, at 11:30 a.m., to support Camp Swatara s capital campaign. We will begin with a silent auction, followed by a buffet at 12:00, featuring favorite camp foods and bluegrass music. We will hold a live auction of several items after lunch. You can bid on a 2018 family membership for the Palmyra Community Pool, homemade goodies, passes to Royal Oaks Golf Course, camping equipment, various gift certificates, and more. Do you cook, clean, rake or shovel? Donate a service. Do you have a new or like-new item that someone else might enjoy? Donate it. The more, the merrier and the more money we raise for Camp Swatara! Guest musicians Janie Womack & Jody Echterling will perform during worship on Sunday, October 29. They will be offering Music of Many Colors - a diverse style including guitar, percussion and vocal harmonies.
