OutReach Opportunities On the Street Bethesda Mission s Mobile Mission will be on the street Friday and Saturday evenings from 9:00pm to midnight, providing outreach to people on the street. To volunteer to help with this important ministry, please contact Debbie King at , ext If you encounter someone on the street, and you are concerned about their physical safety as they may be in need of emergency attention, call 911. Volunteers for Meals on Wheels I am contacting you today because the Agency is experiencing a shortage of volunteers in most areas of the County. The meals are delivered by volunteers in each local community throughout the County. Each volunteer gives as much of their time as they can. Some volunteers deliver virtually Monday through Friday while others may only deliver once a month. Whatever amount of time our volunteers can offer, we and our consumers are very grateful. I hope you will consider participating in this important program. If you would like to discuss this request, please contact me at your convenience at or via at rburns@dauphinc.org, Robert Burns, Executive Director of Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging.

2 Church World Services Thank you for your donations to the Blanket the World with Love Campaign. Presently there is an opportunity to help fill 3 Emergency Cleanup Buckets for the overwhelming need because of the hurricanes and tornadoes and wildfires, mud slides that occurred in 2017 and already in The buckets are at Salem-Zion Church. We also have bags ready to receive the items needed for Hygiene Kits. Many people who are victims of these tragedies really appreciate having their own personal hygiene items. It gives them a sense of comfort and raises their self-esteem. Sometimes in times of crisis family members have to share a toothbrush. We need to have these buckets and kits completed by Sunday, April 22 to be delivered to drop off location in Williamsport first week of May. Hygiene Kits Supplies Needed: 1 hand towel measuring approximately 15 x 28 to 16 x 32 (no fingertip, bath, dish towel, or micro-fiber) 1 Washcloth 1 wide-tooth comb removed from the package 1 Fingernail or toenail clipper removed from the package (either one is acceptable) 1 Bath size bar of soap in the original package 1 Toothbrush in the original package 10 Standard size Band-aids All items need to fit inside a one-gallon Ziploc type bag. Remove the excess air from the bag and seal before boxing. Do not add any extra items or toothpaste. A tube of extended expiration date toothpaste will be added to each hygiene kit just prior to its journey. Value $15 Processing fee $2 per kit Emergency Cleanup Buckets Supplies Needed: 1 Five gallon bucket with re-sealable lid (If bucket has been used, clean well but do not use if it has held chemicals of any kind) 4 Scouring pads 7 Sponges, including one large 1 Scrub brush 18 reusable cleaning towels (e.g. Easy Wipes) 1 50oz or two 25oz bottles of liquid laundry detergent oz bottle of liquid disinfectant dish soap oz bottle of household cleaner that can be mixed with water (no spray bottles) 1 package of clothespins 1 clothesline (100 foot) or 2 (50 foot) 5 dust masks 2 pairs of non-surgical, latex gloves 1 pair of work gloves (cotton with leather palm or all leather) heavy duty or contractor type gallon trash bags on a roll and removed from carton 1 6-9oz bottle of non-aerosol insect repellent All cleaning items must be new and all liquid items must be capped and securely tightened. Place items into the bucket, making sure they are packed securely to avoid damage during shipment. Snap the lid on tight and seal with packing tape. If you saw a group of teenagers picking through the aftermath of that kind of crash strewn all over the highway, that's pretty much what This Way Up looks like on stage. This Way Up is actually the Crull family: Eric and Danielle, Jax, Max and Carson, who play a type of music called "Unconventional Percussion". Their "instruments" are colorful lengths of plastic tubes called Boomwhackers and corrugated drainage pipe. Everything is tuned up to specific notes and played like a gigantic demented whacked out pipe organ. Individuals of all ages are invited to experience this concert, which is a mixture of Christian hymns and current popular Christian music in a new and thoroughly refreshing way. The concert takes place on Saturday, March 10, at St. Paul s United Church of Christ, 1473 Urban Road, Herndon. Cake and coffee will be served at 6 p.m. with the concert following at 7 p.m. A free will offering will be taken. For more information, contact Jenny
