4 FROM THE EAST Brethren, First of all I would like to wish each and everyone a Happy New Year!!! As we begin this year s journey, on behalf of the other elected and appointed officers of our Lodge, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude and thank you to our Brothers, family and friends who came to grace the occasion of installing our 2018 Officers. To the Installing Officers, the Brothers who prepared the food and helped in the kitchen and to those who brought food thank very much. Brothers, as you have noticed or you will notice, on the calendar of activities for this year 2018 which is posted at our Lodge office, not many activities are listed. It is the intention of this leadership that we focus on Masonic education and charity works or community service. Let us encourage each one to come to Open Books, attend MLT (Masonic Leadership Training) 1 and 2, Master Mason 1, 2 and 3,and LOTC (Lodge Officer Training Class) classes and most especially be part of a Degree Team and help on the catechisms of our younger Brothers. On the other hand, I would like to ask everyone if you have any idea(s) on charity works or community service which you think that our Lodge can do and participate with please let me know or you can talk to any of the members of our Community, Civic and Social Activities Committee namely, Senior Deacon Brian Price, Senior Steward Justin Shiver, Junior Steward Louis DiCapua and Tyler Evan Sobel. Brothers, small ideas can be great ones, and great ideas can be done with helping hands. Remember, how good and how pleasant it is for Brethren to dwell together in unity. After all Freemasonry is Charity. Last, I would like to greet our Brothers who are celebrating their birthday this month a Happy Birthday! 5 FROM THE WEST Brethren of Harmonia Lodge, First of all, I would like to thank the Brethren of Harmonia Lodge No. 138 who took time to come out and support our past months activities- the Remembrance Day celebration, Annual Santa's visit and Holiday party,bible and Apron ceremonies, the Annual Election of Officers and the completion of the Lodge Officers' Training Course. I would like to thank all of you Brothers who helped and supported me in the kitchen, and I am thanking you once again for supporting my move to the West for the ensuing year. I am anticipating another busy schedule our Lodge next year.may our year, with the usual support of our Past Masters and the Brethren of the lodge, be a rewarding and memorable one. As the President and M.:.W.:. Harry S. Truman once said: "It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit" In spite of all the glitter of Christmas lights, decorations, social and family get togethers, and Holiday music, the Festive Season can be especially difficult and unhappy time of the year for many individuals and families alike.charity and kindness can combine many forms, and' not all needs are the same.toys for Tots, Food drives, the Salvation Army globes, or support to your local blood banks (Bro. Justin Shriver does help this) if possible. these are few ways we can help those in need during the Holiday Season and throughout the year. Brethren, however you celebrate the Holiday Season, may you and your loved ones have safe travels and enjoy your times together. 6 FROM THE SOUTH Brethren, I thank you in advance for electing me as your new Junior Warden in the South. Well, December is almost gone and soon we ll be in January. Dedicating ourselves to new resolutions and hopes and dreams for the betterment of ourselves as Master Masons for the New Year to come in Congratulations to all the newly raised Brothers to the sublime degree of Master Mason, and thanks to the Brothers that were in charge of them and those who supported them throughout their journey. A big thank you and a welldone Congratulations go out to our Worshipful Master Ricky Espiritu, for putting together so many events for our District Brothers and family to experience and enjoy throughout Harmonia Lodge has welcomed so many Brothers from all over the World this year and I hope it will continue next year. Harmonia Lodge will always go out of their way to make any visitor feel at home being a Mason or not, and I hope they will all return to Harmonia Lodge in As your Junior Warden it is an honor to be elected by the craft and hope to do the best job that I can in the South. I want to give thanks to the Brothers that supported the kitchen in 2017, and hope we can continue as a team effort working together in harmony and fellowship to serve our brethren, family, and community to the best of our ability. CHARITY OF THE MONTH The Tampa Shriners Hospital focuses on a wide range of pediatric orthopaedic conditions, including rare diseases and syndromes. Chartered 1894 Masonic Message Of The Month Brother Donald Jay Rickles Comedian, Actor & Master Mason Whatever you do to gain success, you have to hang in there and hope good things happen. Always think positive. Brother Rickles was raised on June 6, 1953 and remained a member of what is today Service City Geba Lodge 1009 which meets in the Anchor Astoria Temple on 30th Avenue in Astoria, New York. The lodge has been through several consolidations but when Rickles was initiated, it was Geba Lodge 954. He hadn't attended Lodge in many years, but faithfully mailed in his dues check each year. Donald Jay Rickles (May 8, 1926 April 6, 2017) was an American stand-up comedian, actor, and author. He became well known as an insult comic. His prominent film roles included Run Silent, Run Deep (1958) with Clark Gable and Kelly's Heroes (1970) with Clint Eastwood, and beginning in 1976 he enjoyed a two-year run starring in the NBC television sitcom C.P.O. Sharkey. He received widespread exposure as a popular guest on numerous talk and variety shows, including The Dean Martin Show, The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and Late Show with David Letterman, and later voiced Mr. Potato Head in the Toy Story franchise. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for the 2007 documentary Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project.
