3 MESSAGE FROM THE EAST Greetings to all, As you read this letter our 182 nd annual Grand Lodge communication will be taking place. Rest assured that your Wardens and I will be representing our Lodge in the best possible light. We have taken great care to evaluate the proposed legislation and have taken your comments and opinions into consideration before formulating our votes. The Month of June is yet another busy month for our Lodge. We start out by hosting our 5 th annual fishing tournament. We have received several good sponsorships this year but still need to make a big push for more boaters to sign up. If you are or know of someone who is a fisherman please get involved and help raise money for the Quantum House. When you see Brothers Ashcraft, Craft, Ingraham and Olsin make sure you congratulate them on being our four newest Master Masons. Last month s Degree went very well and I thank all of the Brothers that came out to make it a great success. This month we will be having a Fellow Craft Degree on June 28 th, our last Stated Communication of the month. We also need to congratulate our new Junior Warden, Brother Bill Hawkins. I have no doubt that your faith in Brother Hawkins abilities are well founded and that he will continue to do a fantastic job for our Lodge in his new role. For those of you keeping score, this will be the 7 th officer s position Brother Hawkins has taken in our Lodge over a 10 year time span. In closing, I would like to say that we should all be proud of what our Lodge has been able to accomplish in the first 5 months of this year. When it comes to getting things done our Lodge is second to none. However, my challenge to each and every one of you is simple, take what we have started and build upon it. Take the momentum that we have created and turn your Lodge into something great. Not just for ourselves but our family, friends and the community around us. Fraternally yours, Travis A. 4 Message from the WEST Brothers and friends of Jupiter Light Lodge, We had another busy month in May. There were several events and all went very well. To name just a couple, we had our annual Mother s Day Brunch that if you did not attend, you missed a great meal by Brother Hawkins and we raised four Brothers to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. Congratulations to those newly raised Brothers and to all the Brothers who did such excellent Degree work! These events could not have been successful without the help of all the Brothers who assisted. June will include our 5 th Annual Fishing Tournament to once again benefit Quantum House. Please encourage all your friends, family and/or acquaintances with who love to fish to participate or just come out for the BBQ after. Also if you have anyone who would like to donate to this great cause, please let me know as we need your help! I would like to say that this Fraternity continues to amaze me. There is always much to do in our lives but when something arises that is truly important, I can always count on my Brothers to be there with a helping hand. It is this that bonds us together and for that we will never be alone, or without Brotherly love and assistance. Remember, Our Order brings together men who otherwise might have remained at a perpetual distance. We should allow ourselves to embrace the preponderance of similarities between us all and ignore the minor differences. Otherwise we will be forced to admit that we really do just study the ritual to be able to recite it, not in order to obey it. This grass roots organization is made up of the wives of some of our members and helps many local worthy causes Jupiter Light is once again outdoing itself. We are on pace to surpass the total funds raised last year! We raised $1,300 last month alone for the Shrine Children s Hospitals, bringing our year total to $3,350! 9 Message from the South Brethren, I would sincerely like to thank you all for electing me as Junior Warden and I will do my best to continue the tradition of excellence those who have gone before me have established. As many of you know I have been trying to do the work of both Senior Deacon and Junior Warden for some time. What many of you may not know is that when I failed my duties (which happened more frequently than I would like to admit) brothers, without being asked and usually anonymously, stepped up to the plate and completed the work. Such is the close bond we enjoy at Jupiter Light. May it continue to serve as an example of who can best work and best agree. We have had a busy calendar of late. The 50 th was a huge success with over 250 people enjoying a once in a lifetime event at the steps of the lighthouse. The following week we hosted our annual Mother s day brunch. This was my first time cooking and I m pleased to announce that no one was poisoned and everyone had a great time. Thank you to all the brethren that helped make these events happen, you are too numerous to list individually. The next Lodge meal will be at our fishing tournament on June 18. Come join us for fun and fellowship while benefiting the Quantum House. There is no excuse not to sign up - I won t be competing; I ll be cooking this year!
