4 MESSAGE FROM THE EAST Brethren, Hello from Jupiter Light Lodge. We are halfway through The year and have accomplished many things we should be very proud of. None of the things we have done could be done without the continued support and teamwork of this great lodge. We have brought in many new brothers and even more are on their way. As a lodge we have tackled many things so far and it is great to see many of us come together for the common good of others. It makes me proud to say I m a Mason and a brother of this lodge and it should make you proud too. We must continue, however, to work to improve our Lodge, our rituals and most importantly, our brotherly love, affection and community service. This is where your commitment is tested. As officers of the Lodge and as members of this great fraternity, we are obligated to help our fellow man. Do not lose touch with that obligation. That is what separates Freemasonry from all other organizations. Unfortunately, due to high seas and to ensure the safety of the participants, our Annual Fishing Tournament was postponed until July 14 th due to high seas. All the details of the tournament will be the same, just new dates. The Captain s meeting on July 13 6:00pm at the Square Grouper and the tournament starting at 7:00a on the 14 th and concluding with the BBQ and awards dinner at 3:00p. You re invited to join us for a great cause and a lot of fun! Congratulations to Brothers Bryant Dempsey and Kenneth VanEvenhoven for being raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason and Brothers Duran, Horn, Asbacher & Sardinha on earning their Master Mason Bibles and Aprons! This is one of your greatest achievements. Treasure it and continue your journeys! Have a safe a Happy Fourth of July!! 5 Message from the WEST I wish I could report an update on Blackwater Gate. Alas, the insurance carrier is slow to respond; no surprise there. In the next couple of days our demand for payment will expire and we may be forced to retain a law firm that specializes in this area to sue them. Have you ever heard yourself say, the Grand Lodge should..., or I wish we had... Alas my brothers, in preparing for next year I have discovered a plethora of reference materials for just about everything you could imagine (in particular ask our Secretary about GL ). This information has been available for some time but in my laze I had not searched it out. Avail yourself of these materials and the light of the craft will illuminate your path. Another example of the material available to assist the particular lodges is the survey the W.M. included in the Trestleboard last month. Please take the time to fill one out and return it to either W.M. Loeffler or me. My fundamental goal next year is to improve and increase involvement of a more brethren. With an active lodge such as ours comes a responsibility to become involved. Please don t sit idly by enjoying the labor of the brothers that always hail the Master s calling. 6 Message from the SOUTH Greeting Brothers, I write to you from the M/V Best Revenge in the Atlantic Ocean offthe coast ofnorth Carolina, assuming I did the math right in my star reduction (Bro. Bill Hawkins Sr. or Bro. Malcolm, you're old navy men, please check my math), the noon apparent sun was f (83) = ao + ~ 00 (a 7 cos b n sin 2431)... I'm a little rusty. L n =1 L1S L4.17 First and foremost, I would like to thank the brothers that stepped up to the plate and covered the monthly lodge clean-up and thank everyone who turned out to help.this month's lodge clean-up. The last willcouple be Julymonths 28 have had some really good turnouts, let's keep it going. Remember, egardless ofyour physical ability to help with manual labor we have work for every brother. A cornerstone that binds our craft is fellowship. It's important that our newer masons are exposed to our older masons. Unfortunately brothers I don't have much to say this month, I've been kind of"out ofthe Loop" with work. I would however like to thank Worshipful Billy for filling in for me in the South during my absence...masons helping Masons, we should all strive to, as they say, "Help a Brother out"...thanks! Michael Loeffler (center) Charity Report Brethren: Our charity for the month of July will be the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory. The MMRL is a non-profit research institute focused on developing medical cures and treatments in the field of cardiovascular disease. This charity is our flagship charity for the Grand Lodge of Florida and our Worshipful Master has chosen to match all craft donations for this worthy cause. June s Annual Fishing Tournament was postponed due to high seas but has been rescheduled for July 14 th. Please support this great fundraiser for both Quantum House and our Lodge!
