3 MESSAGE FROM THE EAST Greetings Brethren and all, As you will see in this month s charity report, we are off to a great start with our contributions for Not only have we raised a lot of money for several great charities but we have made significant contributions with our charitable labor. My sincere thanks to all that have helped make the first half of this year a great success. In July we had the honor of welcoming our District Deputy, R W John Karroum, to our Lodge along with a surprise visit from our Deputy Grand Master, R W George Aladro. You can rest assure that your new Junior Warden and Senior Deacon were put through their paces last month. Brothers Hawkins and Hyland were able to confer their first Entered Apprentice Degree, cook dinner for our Past Masters, run the monthly Lodge clean-up, and still find time to perform their regular duties for the Craft. It s always nice to see different Brothers step up and do their part to continue the work that needs to be done in order for our Lodge to grow and prosper. Sometimes sickness and distress comes in bunches. Our sincerest condolences go out to our Junior Past Master, Billy Bates, for the loss of his father last month. Our thoughts and prayers are also with R W Roy Hendrickson and his family for their loss. On a positive note our dear Brother Ray Bates is back at home and resting comfortably. Please continue to pray for his speedy recovery. Also, it s great to have W Jack Hammill back in Lodge after a brief scare. As we look ahead, we have several great events planned for the Lodge. Make sure to mark your calendar and come out for some good fun and fellowship at YOUR Lodge. Our 5 th annual golf tournament is just around the corner. 4 Message from the WEST Brothers of Jupiter Light Lodge, July was an active month that required assistance and hard work and as always, the Brothers came through. We had an outstanding Dinner to honor our Past Masters. There was a great turnout and it was great to see all those Past Masters who could attend. We also had an Entered Apprentice Degree in which Bro. Junior Warden Bill Hawkins was in the East and did excellent work, as did all the officers. Congratulations to the newly obligated Brothers on joining the greatest Fraternity in the world. We will have another busy month in August. Please come out and join in the dinners, degrees, Lodge Clean-up and meetings. We would love to see you! If you haven t seen a Brother in Lodge for a while, give him a call and invite him! You may find there is a reason and we can help. As for myself, looking forward, I am starting the planning process for next year and would like your input and suggestions on anything you would like to see or have going into next year or anything to improve upon going forward. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to contact me to discuss. Remember, when your days on earth are over and your proficiency is taken by Senior Deacon, good St. John, you should be prepared to answer what you did before you passed on. Charity Report Brethren, In my June report I failed to acknowledge the generous offer of the Jupiter Shrine Club matching the Lodge s $650 contribution to the Shriners Hospital for Children, bringing the total to $1,300. Thank you Brothers! The esoteric work is alive at Jupiter Light Lodge. To date we have collected over $8, for local charity. That s outstanding given economic conditions; we are fulfilling our obligations to contribute to the needy as liberally as their necessities may require and our abilities permit. I will report the amount collected for the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory in next month s Trestleboard. 9 Message from the South Brethren, The Past Master s Dinner was a huge success! We served over 50 meals and fun was had by all. Thank you to the Past Masters in attendance. I would give a warm welcome to our youngest EAs: Jeffrey Duncan, Bryant Dancy and Kenneth Vanevenhoven. We all look forward to seeing them improve in Masonry. As usual, things have settled down over the summer. However, our next lodge dinner will be a Hawaiian Luau on August 20th at 5:30 p.m. Don t forget the Lodge cleanup on August 27th (breakfast at 7:30 a.m.).
