Church Office closed Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day on Saturday, July 04 Sunday School Volunteer Teachers Still Needed Summer Sunday School continues to meet in the gym during the worship hour for children finished grades K 5. We have chosen a curriculum that is essentially self-contained, and requires very little advanced preparation. What we need are teachers: a team of at least 2 to lead the study, beginning at 10:00 each Sunday Morning. If you are willing and/or interested, come by the Church Office and take a look at the materials. Confirmation / Commissioning Class On Sunday, May 24, the Day of Pentecost, three of our young people completed the Confirmation / Commissioning process by making their Public Profession of Faith during the 11:00 Worship Service. Just prior to that service, the Session convened to officially and joyfully receive Madison Myers, a 4 th grader at Fulton Learning Center; Jake Parr, an 8 th grader at Rockport-Fulton Middle School; and Jade Schuler, a 6 th grader at Rockport-Fulton Middle School. One of the tasks the young people completed was the Top Ten Reasons I Want To Be A Member Of The Church. Here is a compendium of their responses: 1. To live my faith 2. To help people 3. To learn about God 4. To be able to spread the word of God 5. To be able to lead the life God created for me 6. To know my church better 7. To help in the community and in the world 8. To meet new people 9. To teach when I get older and my personal favorite: 10. Because the minister is my grandpa 2

If you would like to volunteer, please contact Veronika Camehl at It has been so nice to be in the Fellowship Hall enjoying our time TOGETHER!!! The 8:30 crowd is getting to sleep a little latter and the 11:00 crowd is having to manage their time a little better but things are working out nicely...we have, for the most part, found our "summer seats." Charlie's sermons are as thought provoking as usual and "no robe required" is a welcome change. Flower sponsorships still has several empty slots including an unassigned Sunday in August. Sponsorships do not require a dedication or reason, sometimes people just do it to the glory of God. The sign up calendar is on the bulletin board in the hallway leading to the Fellowship Hall. 13 More news from Presbyterian Women Deposit donations on this side. Packaged quilting sets Room 204 Entrance Storage cubbies & cabinets every where! And new sewing tables! And new sewing machines! Even The Church Lady received a new cabinet for storing completed Prayer Comforters, packaged quilting sets, notebooks for placards and receiving fabric or supply donations. Thanks to the generosity of Ingrid Little we now have a beautiful, completely refurbished, new sewing room. We hope people will come by and see all of our new furnishings. We also now have a bookcase outside our door with a basket if you wish to donate fabric but we do have a couple requirements: First, please don't give us old curtains, sheets or shower curtains and secondly, fabric pieces need to be 6-1/2" wide - so no little scraps. We use four 6-1/2" squares of each piece of fabric and we use five fabrics. In addition to fabric donations we can use thread, polyester low loft batting and helpers. Even if you do not sew we can use people who iron, cut batting and pull threads through. We meet the third Tuesday of each month from 9am to noon. Thanks again Ingrid for our beautiful new room. Barbara Goodlock Editor s Note: As of June 26, 2015, our church has processed 35 prayer comforters for those in need of intercessory prayer. While preparing this article I received a phone call relaying the message a prayer comforter recipient suffering with a debilitating and life-threatening condition had just been given news that he was miraculously cured to which he credited the power of prayer. He wanted us to know he was framing his prayer comforter, which is now filled to capacity with prayer knots, for all to see and know that God is Good! The Church Lady 13
