4 Coming Events THIS WEEK Lenten Services You re invited to join churches around our community at worship services over the weeks leading up to Easter. These half-hour services are held at different churches each Wednesday at noon, and are followed by a lunch at the host church. This week s service will be February 28th at Madison Presbyterian. Evelyn Wheeler will be speaking. NEXT WEEK Ice Skating (Youth & Families) All 6th -12th graders are invited to join us for ice skating in Columbus on Sunday, March 4th. Students families and friends are welcome and encouraged to come too! We ll hold a pitch-in lunch after second service and then leave from our church building at 1:00p. Cost for ice skating is $7 per person. If you re interested in going or have any questions, contact Randy at COMING SOON Mark Your Calendars! Community VBS Community Vacation Bible School will be Monday, June 19th through Thursday, June 22nd from 6p- 8:15p each night (location TBA). Our theme will be Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus! Registration to volunteer or participate begins April 1st. Bulletin announcements are due the Thursday before the Sunday you d like it printed. Guidelines for writing one are available outside our office.
5 Opportunities & Reminders GIVING & SERVING OPPORTUNITIES Easter Candy We re collecting donations of plastic eggs and individually wrapped candy to stuff in Easter eggs for our children s Easter egg hunt. Donations can be dropped off at Kelly s office now through Sunday, March 25th. (Any donations after that must already be stuffed in eggs.) Homework Helpers You can show Lydia Middleton students they re important to you and to God by helping them with homework weekly from 2:45p-3:45p on a Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday. No experience necessary. If you d like to help, write Homework Helpers and the days of the week you can help on your communication card, sign up in the Lower Auditorium, or contact Nancy Totten at Jefferson House We re collecting items for the Jefferson House, a local inhouse rehab program for men with alcohol and drug addictions. They especially need paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies. Items can be dropped off in the lower auditorium. (Please label donations Jefferson House so we know what ministry you are donating to.) REMINDERS/NOTICES College Scholarship Forms for the Madison Association scholarship are available in the lower auditorium. Applications are due March 15th. Church Directory Pictures We re planning to update our church directory this year. To help each other put names to faces, we would like to have as many people as possible submit their family photos for the directory. (If you had a photo in the previous directory, unless you submit an updated photo, that old photo will be used.) If you would like to submit an updated photo, please follow these guidelines: Make sure to submit a high-quality photo (high resolution, faces close-up, in-focus, with clear lighting). If you submit a professional portrait, please make sure you have the rights to reproduce it. Please provide the name, birthday, anniversary, and updated contact information for each person in the photo (Don t forget to include the college address for any students!) Please submit photos to our office by April 30th. Send digital files to: india@madisonfbc.org. Leave prints in the Office Manager s mail slot outside the church office.
