For the same reason I am certain that in passing from the scientific points of view to the theological, I have passed from dream to waking. Christian theology can fit in science, art, morality, and the sub Christian religions. The scientific point of view [which excludes anything that cannot be physically tested, measured, and proven] cannot fit in any of these things, not even science itself. 4 Coming Events TODAY! Church Family Get-Together Come fellowship with your church family! Invite family and friends and bring a favorite dish to share and come to an all church gathering, pitch-in, and cookout at the Tottens TODAY after second service from 12:45p-3p. (Address: 1100 S. Riverview Dr, Hanover. Their house is a half mile down Riverview, the first brick mailbox on the right.) Church on the Court Looking for even more family fun? Beginning tonight, all ages are invited to join us on Sundays from 5:30p-7p at the Eggleston basketball court for basketball, BBQ and Bible fun! We ll have free food, games, a child-friendly Bible lesson, and giveaways. COMING SOON Prayer Vigil Our deacons are sponsoring a 24 hour prayer vigil and Scripture reading from August 25th, 8:30a until August 26th, 8:30a. This will cover the 24 hours before Randy Crutchfield takes over as our senior pastor. Prayer will be held in the prayer room and the Scripture reading will be in the sanctuary. Sign ups are in the lower auditorium with times available in half hour increments. (Deacons will be present for 3 hour shifts for prayer and security.) Couples Retreat All married couples! Looking for a way to have fun and grow closer to each other? We re holding a one day retreat for all married couples on Saturday, August 18th, at Eggleston from 8a- 8p. The retreat will be led by Brad Johnson and will include catered meals, fun activities, and personalized discussion times. RSVP cards are available in the lower auditorium and need to be returned by July 15th. Church Camp Families and children and teens of all ages can learn about Jesus in a camping experience at Westport Camp! Schedules and forms are available in the lower auditorium and at wesptortcamp.com under Camp Sessions tab, or in the Kidz Worship room. Cost varies from $12.50 to $62.50 and includes all food, lodging and a t-shirt! Scholarships available. July 1-6 Music Camp (entering grades 7-12); July 3-6 Golf Camp (entering grades 7-12); July 8-13: Junior Camp (entering grades 4-6); July 15-20: Jr.- Sr. Camp (entering grades 4-12); July Primary Camp (entering grades 1-3); August 31-Sept. 3 Family Camp (husband, wife and children); September Wilderness Camp (entering grades 5-9); September Paintball camp (entering grades 6-12). Bulletin announcements are due the Thursday before the Sunday you d like it printed. Guidelines for writing one are available outside our office.

5 Opportunities GIVING & SERVING OPPORTUNITIES One Great Hour of Sharing This month we re focusing on One Great Hour of Sharing, a relief fund that helps people in the USA and around the world recover from natural disasters and fight poverty. To donate, please use the envelopes in your pew or designate gifts One Great Hour of Sharing. Candle Lighters We re looking for children interested in arriving a few minutes early for worship services to light the altar candles on Sundays for first and second service. Any children interested can contact Beth Skirvin at or sign up in the lower auditorium. Seniors & College Students Calling all recent grads and college students! We d like to stay close as you enter this new phase of your life. To help with that, please pick up and fill out a Getting to Know You form outside our office. This will be used to help your church mentor connect with you better and to know what would be helpful to you throughout the year. Please drop off forms in the church office by the end of June. Mentors for College Age Students As our college age students are going through this transitional stage in their lives we re looking for people willing to support and encourage their growth in faith and maturity by sending them notes, praying, and meeting up with them throughout the year. If you re interested in mentoring at least one student this year, please write Mentor on your communication card or contact Emily Goins at Drivers Needed There s a great need for people to help provide transportation to our church services. We re looking for people willing to be on call to help us meet this need. If you re willing to help, please write Transportation on your communication card, or contact Keith Chilton ( ). Jefferson House We re collecting items for the Jefferson House, a local in-house rehab program for men with alcohol and drug addictions. They especially need paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies. Items can be dropped off in the lower auditorium. (Please label donations Jefferson House so we know what ministry you are donating to.) INVITATION Ulster Project Opening Ceremony The Madison Ulster Project cordially invites you to attend the Opening Ceremony on Thursday, June 28th at 5:30p in St. Patricks Chapel at 305 W. State Street. Please come and give the Northern Ireland Teens a warm welcome.
