4 Coming Events & Notes THIS WEEK TODAY! Christmas Play Auditions All Youth and Kidz are invited to audition and participate in our upcoming Christmas play, Christmas Comes to Lickety-Split! We ll hold auditions in the basement today at 3:30p. (Rehearsals will be on Sundays from 3:30p-4:45p, beginning next Sunday, October 14th.) The performance will be Friday, December 14th, at 7p in the sanctuary. Volleyball Game You re invited to cheer on our church league volleyball team at the Brown Gym tomorrow, October 8th, at 6:45p. (If you d like to play, contact K-Lynn Minor or write Volleyball on your communication card.) NEXT WEEK Missions Sunday Sunday, October 14th, is Missions Sunday. We ll be celebrating missions work with our guest speaker, Barbara Bolick, one of our special interest missionaries serving in Chile. We ll also collect an offering for missions after both services. COMING SOON 55+ Trip Our 55+ Friends will be going to Hubers Orchard on Thursday, October 25th. The bus will leave our church building at 9:30a. They ll eat lunch at Cracker Barrel in Sellersburg on the way home. If you re interested in going, contact Connie Dalgleish at by Monday, October 22nd. Christmas Play Mark your calendars! Our Christmas play, Christmas Comes to Lickety-Split by Joy Cleveland, will be held Friday, December 14th, at 7p in the sanctuary. This play, produced with permission from Christian Publishers, will be a lot of fun, while having a very poignant Christian Christmas message. We hope to see you there! 5 Opportunities & Reminders GIVING & SERVING OPPORTUNITIES TODAY! Community Needs You can help people who need financial assistance for necessities such as housing and electricity by donating to our Benevolence Fund. Deacons will be at the church exits after today s services to collect donations for this ministry. World Mission Offering During October we re focusing on the American Baptist World Missions. To give to this fund, please use the envelopes in your pew, or designate checks to WMO and place in the offering plate. See your bulletin insert for information about the missions supported by this offering. Our goal for this year is $3,500. Edna Martin Center Pantry Drive We re collecting items for the supply pantry at the Edna Martin Christian Center in Indianapolis. Items needed include canned goods, paper products, and toiletries. A box will be available in the lower auditorium for dropping off donations through October 21st. Soup Needed Second Stories will be participating in the Soup Stew Chili and Brew on Saturday, October 13th. If you d like to make soup, chili, or individually wrapped desserts, it would help tremendously. If you plan on helping, please contact Kim Taylor (502) REMINDERS/NOTICES Child Dedication We re planning to hold our next child dedication service in November. (Child Dedication is where parents commit to raise their child in the Christian faith and the church commits to providing a spiritual support for the family.) All parents/guardians are welcome to participate. If you re interested, please write Child Dedication on your communication card or contact Kelly at fbckidz@madisonfbc.org or (We ll also need the name, birth date and photo of all children being dedicated to include in a special bulletin insert. Send info to india@madisonfbc.org.) I m a Christian Now! We ll hold this three-session children s baptism class on Sunday mornings on November 4th, 11th, and 18th, from 10a- 10:45a in the Kidz Worship room (first floor). This class is for any child ready to make, or curious about making, Jesus Lord of their life. Parents are welcome to attend. Want to participate?
