At our officers meeting, we discussed different ways to have members attend our meetings. We have our Fish Bowl with only one winner so far. Our officers will explain in their reports. John G. Our next event will be the Faithful Navigator s Dinner Dance in April at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Tamarac. I will keep you posted on upcoming events in the Patriot and at our business meetings. Michael Cherup, PFN Brother Sir Knights, In reviewing my responsibilities to this Assembly, as Chairman of Admissions and Membership Committees, I feel the need to call on all Brother Sir Knights, for your help in the need to encourage worthy Third Degree Knights to apply for advancement to the Fourth Degree. With a little encouragement in your local Council from each of us; we should all be able to bring in one new Sir Knight this year. Let them all learn the true meaning of Patriotism. Philopi Pierre Michel I would again like to say a special thanks to my Brothers who come early and help set up and those who remain to assist with clean-up. 3 Saturday, January 30 The Color Corps received a request from Sister Marie of the Legion of Mary, that the Color Corps participate in the Quarterly Village Square Rosary at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church in North Lauderdale. The Color Corps assembled at 11:00 Sick and Welfare Ron Harper, PFN Brother Knights, For the months of February / March things have been rather quiet. No one reported in the hospital, but those still needing our prayers are: Harry Placke, Guy Rizzi, Bill Ford, Joe Gigangi and Dan Davis.If I missed anyone, it is because No One let me know. O NEILL COLOR CORPS SK John J O Toole, PFN, Commander Johnjo2l@aol.com Tuesday, November 17 The Color Corps was requested by Grand Knight Joseph Lucien of the St. Joseph Council in Pompano Beach to help celebrate the feast day of the Patroness of St. Elizabeth of Hungry Church in Pompano. The pastor of the church, celebrated a special 7: 00 PM mass in honor of St. Elizabeth of Hungry. Those participating in the Color Corps included Ron Harper, Philop-Pierre Michel, Mike Cherup, Elica Cherelus, Pierre St. Vil, Exantes Cherfrere, and Commander John O Toole. Saturday, November 21 The Color Corps had been requested to participate in a White Mass in honor of all those dealing with disabilities in Broward County. The Mass was sponsored by Lighthouse of Broward, a nonprofit agency dealing with those with handicaps. The mass was held at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Tamarac. Those participating in the Color Corps were Ron Harper, Harry Whitford, F.N. John Rebescher, Lou Barrera, Philop-Pierre Michel, Tony Oropallo, Pierre St. Vil, Exantes Cherefrere, and Commander John O Toole. Tuesday, December 8 The Color Corps was requested to participate in a Pro-Life Mass in honor of the Virgin Mary on her holy day at St. Malachy Church in Tamarac. Unfortunately the Color Corps received a very short notice of one day, however the following Sir Knights responded and did a good job as usual, Reyes Carrizales, Manny Castano, Richard Allen and led by Lt. Cdr. Ron Harper. We received the recognition from Father O Dwyer for our response. Tuesday, January 12 The Color Corps was requested by Council for Sir Knight Edward Clarity who passed away on January 8 th. Sir Knight Clarity joined the Knights of Columbus almost 55 years ago in March of 1961 and was a member of St. Malachy Council at the time of his death. He was also a member of the Edward A. O Neil Assembly. The following Sir Knights participated in the Color Corps, FN John Rebescher, Reyes Carrizales, Manny Castano, Richard Allen, and led by Lt. Cdr. Ron Harper. AM for the 12:00 Noon Rosary precession. Participating in this event were FN John Rebescher, Harry Whitford, Pierre St. Vil, Elica Cherelus, Philop-Pierre Michel, and Commander John O Toole UPCOMING EVENTS April 10, 2016 The Color Corps has been requested by Irene Swensen, President of Coral Springs, Council 8838 for a Corporate Communion at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Coral Springs. This is an attempt to keep all our members up to date and not suspended from the Assembly. 2
