Fellow Elks I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The Christmas Charity Auction was one of the biggest ever. Thanks to everyone that helped. This was my first year to help with the kids, it was a very heart warming experience. I will be there next year. January is again a very busy month at the Lodge. Thanks again for your help and support. February Steak Night Fraternally, Bob Reed, Exalted Ruler We ll have our Valentine Steak Night on Saturday, Feb. 12 th from 5:00 to 7;00 p.m. and then join everyone in the Lodge Room for music by Kick-n-Clyde. Darts Stop by your Lodge for Monday Night Darts at 7:30 p.m. Happy Hour on Mondays, too. It s a lot of fun! Hoop Shoot Winners Congratulations to 8-9 year olds Trevor Bradley 1 st, Brent Wagner 2 nd & Olivia Marsa 1 st, Aubree Eaton 2 nd ; year olds Garrett Wilkinson 1 st, Chase Boyer 2 nd & year olds Brandon Wagner 1 st & Peyton Bradley 1 st. Potosi Elks Hoop Shoot was held at the P.H.S. Gym on Sunday, Dec. 12 th. Trevor Bradley went on to win Districts with 22 of 25 free throws and will shoot at State on Saturday, Feb 5 th. Deputy Meeting District Deputy Clinic will be held on Sunday, January 23 rd at 1:00 p.m. at our Lodge. According to the Laws of the Order, it is necessary to ensure that the Exalted Ruler, Leading Knight, Secretary and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees be present. Please mark your calendars. Your Charity at Work With the help of Potosi Elks Lodge #2218 and its membership, the Christmas Charity Program helped buy clothes, shoes and needed items for more than 450 children of our community. Thanks goes to everyone who helped make this year another success. From the businesses and individuals who donated items and money, to all who helped set up the Auction, to everyone who got in our donation drawing, to all those who attended and purchased items at the Auction, to those who helped the children pick out their items. It takes a lot of people to make this big event work and it is a joy to see the children who are so thankful for their new clothes and coats. It s Steak Night on Saturday, Jan. 15 th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Enjoy a delicious steak and then stick around for our first Mouse Race of the new year, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tip of the Antlers -- Thanks to Dave DeGonia for donation his 1 st Place Drawing Money - $ PLUS $ of his own to the Christmas Charity. For the first time we can remember, all three drawing winners were Elks and were at the Auction when their names were drawn.
