1 March 2017 Life Together Thank you Thank you for your donation of clothing to Parent-Child Center. You are making a difference in the lives of victims of domestic violence and sexual assault Thank you Parent Child Center Lexington, NE Your kindness has not gone unnoticed The Lord sees and so do I! Thank you for your support LCMC Heartland District Board, David Sasse, Treasurer Words of Hope The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him And he went outside and wept bitterly. (Luke 22, 61,62) When s the last time you cried? Might it sound strange to suggest that Lent is a good time for Christians to have tears in their hearts, if not also their eyes, just like Simon Peter? If only we could see the hurt in Jesus eyes each time we choose sin. You see, there is no such thing as cheap grace. Each one of our sins cost Jesus dearly. Each one made Him shudder in the garden, struggle on the cross, sigh His last breath in death. And repentance is not a light matter. It s the sinner seeing the look on his Savior s face and gulping in shame, I m sorry Lord, so sorry I have sinned against you. Are we ready to join Peter in those tears of repentance this Lenten season? When the Savior looked at Peter that night, oh so long ago it wasn t I warned you about this. You got yourself into it, now get yourself out. Instead there had to be love in that look. That look had to say, Peter, I still love you, and I forgive you. This holy season, can we leave the cross and its message of God s love for sinners without tears of gratitude? Jesus still loves you! He knows your daily defeats and denials. He s well aware of all of your sins and shortcomings. And He forgives you. And He still loves you. Can it be? Oh, thank God that it is! Please Lord, let there be tears in our hearts and in our eyes this Lenten season. Amen. <>< Pastor Tim

Here is an example: as you look through the yearbook there are places where we have no one signed up for some Sundays to be greeters. How would you feel to be a visitor at our church and no one was there to greet you or make you feel at home? There are other areas where we are spread very thin. We have super ushers, readers, audio and sound system people, etc., but they need your help also. We even have spots to sign up for activities that only happen once in a few years. This year it would be the senior breakfast. Please call me or talk to someone and get involved. This is your church, and we need your talents also. Sincerely, Janet Renken
