Lee Greenwood. May our prayers be to keep our troops safe! May Gold Bless the United States of America Let Freedom Ring! Farrel & Linda Schmidt We would like to thank the confirmation students, parents, and leaders that helped get the Yoder Cemetery mowed and looking nice for Memorial Day. We had a wonderful event and it could not have been possible without you, so thank you. This year we traveled to Kearney to the Viaero Event Center where we enjoyed ice skating, playing cards, knocker ball wars, a photo boot made by the sophomore girls, and some delicious food catered by Hy-Vee. We had Head Over Boots themed t-shirts designed by the sophomore girls that were white and turquoise. There was also a raffle with prizes such as speakers, a senior photo shoot, a 5 lb. chocolate bar and a bracelet. This was a safe activity for students to participate in after such a marvelous evening. We had a wonderful time with your gift. Thank you again! The Bertrand Class of 2018 Hope Ladies I will never forget your kindness. Thanks for serving Cindi s funeral. Hope Church still meant a lot to her. Prayers, Norma Wittfoth

7 Words of Hope Picture yourself before heaven s door. You have a request to make of the heavenly Father. You knock, and He opens it. Lord, you begin, I m so and so and I ve come to request such and such. The words are barely off your tongue when He shuts the door in your face. What else could you expect? What right do sinners have to approach a Holy God, much less to make demands on Him? You pick yourself up and try again. Once more you knock, and once more the door opens. Lord, you pray, I m your child. See, I wear the robe of righteousness woven by your Son on the loom of the cross. The stains on this robe are real; that s His blood that covers all my sin. He has told me that He has made me your forgiven child and that whatever I ask in His name, you will give to me. The door opens wide; the Father s arms reach out. Lovingly He lifts me up on His knee. Tenderly He encourages me to speak. Why is it that I, an unworthy sinner, can come to God at all with my prayers? It s because of my risen Savior. Before the Father s throne He points to His love that paid the price for my sins and His grace that made me a believer. And then He pleads that God hears my prayer for His sake. So it is possible for me in Jesus name, only because of Jesus full payment for my sins, to come to God and find a loving Father who will both hear and answer all such prayers. I don t have to add the words this I ask for Jesus sake to each prayer, but I do need to believe them. Our Savior spoke to His disciples saying, I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. (John 16:23) Thanks be to God. <>< Pastor Tim OH, What a difference trees make!
