Late books will not be judged; but will be reviewed for completeness. 4-H Achievement Night All 4-H leaders, members, parents, and family members are invited to 4-H Achievement Night to be held on Thursday, November 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fine Arts Building, Box Elder County Fairgrounds in Tremonton. The names of those who will be receiving 4-year member pins are in this newsletter. Also listed are the names of leaders receiving pins for their years of service in 4-H. This year s fee is still $10. Go to ut.4honline.com to re-enroll. A helpful tutorial is on the first page to assist you. Payments can be made in the online system, walked into the 4-H Office in Brigham City or call us at to pay with a credit card. Your enrollment must be complete in the online system BEFORE any money or credit card payment will be accepted in the office. Your status will show as pending until it is reviewed in our office (even if it was paid by credit card in the online system). If information is correct and enrollment payment has been received, status will be changed to approved. FYI: The system does not allow registration for any events until a member is enrolled. 4 Service Project - Ryan s Case for Smiles So exactly how did we do at the Box Elder County Fair and who made it happen? 1,329 4-H exhibits H exhibits selected for State Fair 38 skilled judges 47 awesome volunteers 8 amazing directors 4-H Success Story Padyn Richards displays a pillowcase she sewed that will be given to youth who are being treated for cancer. These cheery gifts will be donated to Logan Regional Hospital. 4-Hers from around the county participated in this service project. Forty-two colorful pillowcases are ready to be delivered! Best Clothing Construction Award Trinity Hale was selected as the recipient of the 2018 Best Clothing Construction Award at the Box Elder County Fair. She was awarded $50 and a certificate to recognize her excellent sewing skills. A special thank you is extended to Michael and the late Gloria Jensen for sponsoring the Best Clothing Construction Award this year. Join Us for Bake and Take Week After Mason Greenhalgh completed his first ever 4-H Tablesetting Contest he was asked, What did you learn today? His response, I learned to believe in myself. Way to go Mason! Box Elder County is celebrating 4-H during Bake and Take Week, October 1-6. We encourage all to take a baked good to someone that has been an influence on youth through the 4-H program. If you don t have time to bake something, consider sending a thank you note. Many people have donated much of their time and money to help youth learn leadership, citizenship and life skills. For more than 100 years, 4-H has been providing youth with the innovative research and resources from our nation s 106 land-grant universities and colleges.

13 4-H at the Box Elder County Fair Parade Members of the 4-H Western Horse program and volunteer Shane Bingham represented 4-H in the Box Elder County Fair Parade. 15 Teen Leadership Training (TLT) Registration has been extended to October 3 Each year 4-H teens in grades 9-12 gather from all across the state to develop leadership skills. Participants take part in a variety of fun and challenging activities designed to enhance their ability to lead in their 4-H clubs and communities. Held in October during UEA on Utah State University Campus If you are a Sophomore or Junior in high school right now, there in an opportunity for you to shadow the State Ambassadors at TLT (Teen Leadership Training) and see how things run. This event will be held October Register for TLT at ut.4honline.com.

The board has asked that this information be ed to you. Please note the following minimum weight changes as you prepare to select your livestock for the upcoming 2019 year: Steers- *1225 lbs minimum with no shrink; Hogs- *235 lbs to 290 lbs; Lambs 110 lbs minimum (105 lbs at tagging)
