All Star Candidates: n/a Emerald Star Candidates: Blake Schuster - Noah and Wyatt McCullum (contract expired) *Karen will contact Blake about the final changes to the Turkey Proficiencies and which standard they are based upon. There was some discussion about terminology for chicks. Julie will contact UC Davis 4-H poultry (Dr. Bradley) to see which are used for judging. EC Decision Summary & Report: See Feb, March. March, 6:30 P.M. 4-H Office Discussion/Updates: Supporting our 4-H families impacted by the Lake County fires. o The Fair Board has sent in money to reimburse Valley Fire victims for the purchase of hats. Pancake ticket packets/distribution/promotion/coordination - Julie sent Keith a blurb about the pancake breakfast ticket promotion. Keith/Karen are to convey this information to the teens that will be visiting the clubs who typically have low ticket sales. o 4-H Council needs an event coordinator for the Pancake Breakfast to remind clubs to pick up their packets, sell tickets and work at the pancake breakfast. If interested, please call Nicole. 4-H Fling - Peggy shared a slide show of the event. There was a good turnout and the evaluations showed a lot of positive feedback. Peggy thanked the 4-H office for all their support. Congressman Thompson s dinner Event - A few of our teens showed up to help out. Reports: County Wide Presentation Day: See attached survey results Nomination committee - We are still looking for nominations! Anyone interested in serving Lake County 4-H can call Julie, Nicole, or Peggy. #C4HLT - next meeting 4pm at Kelseyville Presbyterian Church. Catherine Braider/other teens will be delivering the first presentation at Mini Cannon this Thursday. Nicole will print the bookmarks to pass out at the assembly. Fair Board (Katy Evans) no meeting JLAC- (Katy Evans) - will meet 3/3 Office Report: Julie VEC Trainings - Volunteer Enrollment Coordinator training (end of July) Adding to Your 4-H Tool Box: (Julie) Data Collection at events - USDA, who funds 4-H is requiring data on who is participating in the county wide events. In particular, they want information about ethnicity to make sure that all groups have equal access and participation. Laura Burke had an idea that there should be a poster of information to explain why this information is needed. Julie is working on this too. 5 Anderson Marsh - submitted by Katy Evan Council Club Reports March 06 Projects are well underway. Tonight is our club meeting. A committee is in place to plan a club presentation day. Many of our members had a great time at Fling. Thank you to Peggy for all of your hard work! We are lucky to have such a fun morning to celebrate 4-H. Blue Heron submitted by Peggy Alexander The Blue Heron club was very active in Feb. & March. Late March several members visited Rodman Slough and helped the Land Trust weed around native plants and plant new native grasses. March 9th almost the entire club showed up for the 4-H Fling and many of the members took home medals or special awards. Amelia Woods medaled in Home Arts and Sewing; Mariah Woods won Best Cookie, Jaden Bussard won Best Themed Cupcake and Best Cobbler, and Amelia Woods won Best Themed Place setting. The leadership team was very instrumental in leading activities at the field day. That night Catherine Braider, Jake Walker, Amelia and Miriah Woods, Charlie and Robin Adams helped at the Congressman Thompson dinner. The leadership team will be planning the April Club game night activities in early April AND making a schedule to sell Pancake Breakfast tickets over the next several weeks. Cobb Mountain : submitted by Stacie Judson Pictured is Trinty and Sierra and far right is Crystal. Trinty made snacks for our club meeting all by herself. Every month a club member makes their own snack and shares with the club. Very proud of these girls. Also our Poultry, and Pig meetings have been underway and it's exciting to see these kids excited.

6 C & L - submitted by Karen Hayes C&L has been working on our community service project. They are making Easter dinner and baskets for two families in our county. We have all the children's baskets full and ready to go. The fresh food for their dinner will be bought this week. Everyone is looking forward to being a part of a happy Easter. Teens you could be a part of history. January H Delegates will be able to see the inauguration of our new president. Scotts Valley - submitted by Quinlan Burke Scott's Valley Cloverbuds: How much sugar is too much? Scott's Valley Cloverbuds discovered that the daily reccomendation is 4 tsp. (6 grams) a day. To get an idea how little that is, they were given different types of drinks and instructed to measure the amount of sugar each drink contained. Water? 0 teaspoons (0 grams). Coke? 9 3/4 tsp. (39 grams). Wow! That's more than twice the amount of sugar you're supposed to have! Let's stay healthy and drink more water! Presentation Day: Scott's Valley 4-H hosted Presentation Day We had nice weather, a good turnout, and yummy food to eat! Thanks to all who attended and helped to make this year's Presentation Day such a successful event!
