We have several people who are stopping by the gym to let their students out. This is causing the line to back-up in the parking lot, and occasionally along Weldin Rd. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. RE-ENROLLMENT Re-Enrollment for school year has begun. Forms will be going home with youngest and only students and will be on the IHM website. Please have forms returned to IHM by February 6th. Contact Michelle Iacono with any questions or concerns. PRESIDENTS DAY WEEKEND IHM students will have a half day of school on Friday, February 16, with dismissal at 11:50 Teachers will have In-Service for Cathcetical Training on February 16 School is closed for all students and staff on Monday, February 19

2 TO JESUS THROUGH MARY To Jesus through Mary February Focus Sorrowful Mysteries February Virtue of the Month Faithfulness As we move into February, we turn our attention to the Sorrowful Mysteries of the rosary, especially during the Lenten season beginning on Ash Wednesday, (February 14). The virtue for February is faithfulness, a virtue which finds itself as true in celebrating Valentine s Day as it is in reflecting on the Sorrowful Mysteries of the rosary. Just as couples are faithful to one another in their commitment of love, Jesus is faithful to the will of the Father through his Passion, Death, and Resurrection. Faithfulness may sometimes be regarded as an idea relegated to a chosen few persons because it is perceived as too difficult to live. Yet, it is faithfulness that is sung throughout the Old Testament psalms, lauded in the letters of St. Paul in the New Testament, and commended in the lives of the saints. It is faithfulness that is celebrated in the vows of marriage, religious life, and priesthood. It is faithfulness which our history and our experience draw us to seek. This week, let us pause and ponder the ways in which faithfulness manifests itself in our lives and give thanks to God for these blessed relationships. Pre-K through 6 th Grade had a great time choosing their books last Monday. A big thanks to all the 8 th Grade students who assisted in bringing the books from the collection points to the gym and sorting and counting them. Not an easy job! I would especially like to thank Michele Dorsey the wonderful guidance she gave me on the event and for running it for several years prior. Thanks to Laura Brutsche, Vicki Copeland, Tricia Gordon, Nicole Irani, Jane Klinger, Colleen Olexa, Monika Maziara, Mandy Ralston, Francine Roarty, Kristen Rosato and Margaret White who helped sort and assisted in various ways on the day of the event. I hope your children have many happy hours of reading the books they choose!!!! Thanks, Grace Donahue HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT JOINING THE HSA? The Home & School Association (HSA) is looking to fill the roles of President and Vice President for the 2018/2019 HSA Board. Both of these roles can be shared by 2 people. Our goal is to have a smooth transition into next year which means starting the process in spring of this current school year. February 28th - HSA Social Have you ever wondered just what the HSA does or how you could get involved? Then mark your calendars for Wednesday, February 28th, when the HSA will be hosting an informal, informational social in the school library starting at 7 p.m. More info to come in the coming weeks! March 2nd - TAG Day We are adding a Tag Day on to raise some funds for the Beau Biden Foundation, representatives of which will be joining us for a timely and important presentation on March 14th. (See below) March 14th - Cyber Security Session The HSA will be holding a Cyber Safety session presented by the Beau Biden Foundation on Wednesday, March 14th at 7 pm in the Lower Hall. This presentation is intended for adults. There will be an added Tag Day on March 2nd in which proceeds will go to this very generous foundation. The grand prize winner of the Answer to a Prayer Raffle will also be drawn that evening. More info to come in future.
