If you don t have time to bake something consider sending a thank you note. Many people have donated much of their time and money to help youth learn leadership, citizenship and life skills. For more than 100 years, 4-H has been providing youth with the innovative research and resources from our nation s 106 land-grant universities and colleges.

First year members and leaders will receive their certificates through the mail. Leader and member seals will be available at Achievement Night for others who are interested in updating their certificate. If you have lost your certificate, call or stop in at the USU Extension Service and we will be happy to give you another. Junior Livestock Checks Junior livestock checks are expected to be available to 4-H and FFA youth who participated in the Box Elder 4-H/FFA Livestock Auction on Monday, October 27, at the USU Extension Office, 01 South Main, Room #30 in Brigham City. FFA exhibitors will receive their checks from their FFA instructors. An updated and complete 4-H Record Book Portfolio or the 4-H Market Livestock Record Book must be turned in to the office to be reviewed. The 4-H books must follow the guidelines set by the 4-H Office. THOSE SUBMIT- TING LATE RECORD BOOKS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PICK UP THEIR CHECKS UNTIL NOVEMBER 10 AT THE BRIGHAM USU EX- TENSION OFFICE. Those bringing in their books after November 10 will need to leave their books at the office for seven days before picking up their livestock check. Record Book Requirement All 4-H and FFA market steer, lamb and hog exhibitors will be required to turn in an updated record book prior to receiving their sale check. These books need to follow the guidelines set by the 4-H office or FFA department. The record book needs to be the work of the exhibitor. All 4-H livestock record books are due October 1. FFA exhibitors should check with their FFA advisor for record book deadlines. Failure to complete and submit a record book by January 31, 2015, will make the exhibitor ineligible to sell an animal in the 2015 junior livestock sale. Carcass Award Meeting The carcass award meeting for sheep, hogs, and beef will be held October 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the Auction Barn at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds. Winners will receive a personal invitation in the mail.
