1 The regular meeting of the Country Cousins was called to order on October 7, 2013 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church by Co-Presidents Corey Bertini and Ana Frazee. Roll call was, What is your favorite/least favorite food made out of pumpkin? and was answered by 29 members. 16 adults and 1 guest were also present. The secretary s report was read by Joe Bryson and approved. The treasurer s report was read by Delaney McMullen and approved. For old business, Linda reminded everyone to register online. Sarah Clayton reported about painting windows at Warren s Jewelry. We also discussed National 4-H Week activities, including wearing shirts to school and delivering cookies. For new business, Delaney McMullen volunteered to buy healthy snacks for Northeast. Also, McMullens, Bertinis, and Frazees volunteered to bring cookies to the Mills County Awards Program. Linda also reminded all members to sign up to host a meeting. We discussed if we wanted to add any new projects, and Mrs. Frazee mentioned helping with backpacks for children in Glenwood at Christmas time. John Bainter came to talk to us about new club shirt designs. He told us how to create a good t-shirt design. Announcements were read by Corey Bertini and Ana Frazee, including reminders for Officers Training and Junior Halloween Party on October 20 and Mills County Awards on November 3. Emma Ringsdorf gave a presentation on changing a recipe. The Pledges to the American flag and the 4-H flag were led by members with October birthdays and anyone who was wearing sandals. After the meeting the club played Balloon Stomp and had snacks provided by Ringsdorfs and Staierts, and the officers met to discuss the program for the year. The next meeting will be Monday, November 4, at the Catholic Church. The treasurer s report was read by Delaney McMullen and approved. For old business, Tami Bertini reminded members to get their registration completed. Sarah Clayton gave a report on the Junior Halloween Party. The club voted on a budget for the books we will be purchasing for the Backpack program at Christmas. Members selected books to purchase from school catalogs. For new business, Linda congratulated the club for earning Banner Club recognition and also the members who won awards. Sarah Clayton, Adam Clayton, and Breanna Epperson were recognized for wearing their 4-H t-shirt to school for National 4-H Week. On Sunday, November 24 our club will be decorating Glen Haven at 4:00. We also signed up to adopt a Grandma and Grandpa at Glen Haven to purchase clothes and other items for them for Christmas. The Arnolds volunteered to buy healthy snacks for Northeast. Rachel Whitehouse gave a presentation on her Lakota mission trip, Melanie Gillet gave a presentation on making paper butterflies, Sarah Hardcastle gave a presentation on basketball, and Faith Hardcastle gave a presentation on making gum wrapper necklaces. After the meeting the club played Ultimate Duck, Duck, Goose and

2 had snacks provided by Harcastles, Whitehouses, and Gillets. The next meeting will be Monday, December 3, at the Catholic Church. Before the meeting began, club members labeled and wrapped the books we purchased for the children in the backpack program. Roll call was, What is your favorite winter sport? and was answered by 35 members. Fourteen adults were also present. The secretary s report was read by Joe Bryson and approved. The treasurer s report was read by Delaney McMullen and approved. For old business, Linda reminded everyone to make a check to the club for registration. Also, Michelle Arnold gave a report on Christmas decorating at Glen Haven. Our club also made a decision on our club s t-shirt design and color. We collected presents for a grandpa and two grandmas at Glen Haven and the Schuppans volunteered to deliver them. For new business, the Arnolds volunteered to buy healthy snacks for North East. Audrey Arnold told the club about the upcoming Set This- Bake This activity on January 26. There will also be a new member workshop that day. Several announcements were read by Ana Frazee. Presentations were given by Ben Frazee, Kris Mintle, and Vivianne Payne. Linda led us in a fun dice game to end the meeting. The next meeting will be Monday, January 6, at the Catholic Church. Linda also reminded the club about the Set This-Bake this activity on Sunday, January 26. There will also be a new member workshop that day. For new business, the McMullens volunteered to buy healthy snacks for Northeast. Ana told the club about the glass fusing workshop. More information will come about a date and time. The club also picked stores to shop for the Storehouse in February and assigned families to each store. The club also made a team to organize Share the Fun. Ana Frazee also informed us of many announcements, including county events and activities. A presentation was given by Ana Frazee. The next meeting will be Monday, February 3 at the Catholic Church, with Storehouse shopping to occur first.

Before the meeting, we broke into teams to go shopping for the Mills County Storehouse. We shopped at Dollar General, Newman s, ShopKo, No Frills, and Family Dollar, and then gave our items to representatives from the Storehouse. Roll call for the meeting was, How many people do you think in Iowa use food stamps? and was answered by 36 members. Twenty-one adults were also present. The secretary s report was read by Joe Bryson and approved. The treasurer s report was read by Delaney McMullen and approved. For old business, Viviane Payne gave a report on the Set This, Bake This workshop. Also, Grace Nightser gave a report on the new member workshop. The club also voted on our t-shirt design. For new business, Riley Wiese volunteered to go shopping for healthy snacks for Northeast. Linda also informed the club about a glass fusing workshop on February 8 th. Rachel Whitehouse and Adam Clayton volunteered to chair our club s Share the Fun act. Ana Frazee and Corey Bertini also informed us of many announcements, including county events and activities. A presentation was given by Delaney McMullen on Eric Carle painting. The next meeting will be Monday, March 3 at the Catholic Church. Roll call for the meeting was, What is your favorite Lucky Charms shape? and was answered by 27 members. Eleven adults were also present. The secretary s report was read by Joe Bryson and approved. The treasurer s report was read by Delaney McMullen and approved. For old business, Kyndal Nelson gave a report on our glass fusion workshop and Viviane Payne gave a report on the 4-H STEM event. For new business, the club discussed how they will create their historian book this year. Also, Audrey Arnold volunteered to go shopping for healthy snacks for Northeast. Linda reminded the club that this year s Mills County Fair is going to start on Friday, July 18, and it will end on Tuesday, July 22. The club also voted to keep selling ice cream at the fair as the club s fundraiser. Linda reminded the club that we will be helping out with the Easter Egg Hunt on April 19. Also, Rachel Whitehouse and Adam Clayton volunteered to organize a team for She the Fun. The club decided that before the April meeting we will be cleaning out the flower beds in front of the church to show our appreciation for having our meetings there. The club discussed how to write good goals, and Linda led a discussion on how to write detailed measurable goals. Many announcements were also given by Jessica Arnold. Presentations were given by Adam Clayton on Minecraft characters, Sarah Clayton on tutus, Luke Lambert on puppets, and Grace Nightser on popcorn balls. The next meeting will be Monday, April 7 at the Catholic Church.

Before the meeting, the club members and parents helped clean the gardens for the church as a thank-you for allowing us to meet there. Roll call for the meeting was, Have you started a 4-H project yet? and was answered by 38 members. Nineteen adults were also present. The secretary s report was read by Joe Bryson and approved. The treasurer s report was read by Delaney McMullen and approved. For old business, we discussed purchasing club shirts. The club will pay $5 for each shirt, with each member paying the rest. The club also talked about setting up for the Easter egg hunt on April 19. We also discussed some Share the Fun ideas. For new business, the club had a discussion on how the historian book will be created. Also Riley Weise volunteered to go shopping for snacks for Northeast. Linda also reminded the club about the upcoming Clothing and Communication contest. The club also decided to cover the volleyball court at the fairgrounds before our May meeting. Linda asked the club if they would be interested in helping with the Rocket workshop on June 24 th. The club also discussed new ideas for the Relay for Life Kids games on June 7 th. Many announcements were given by presidents Ana Frazee and Corey Bertini. Presentations were given by Ethan Farmer, Noah Carter, and DeSean Hunt on catfish, and Breanna Epperson and Kari Schuppan on making snow globes. The next meeting will be Monday, May 5 at the Mills County Fairgrounds. The regular meeting of the Country Cousins was called to order on May 5, 2014 at the What are you looking forward to doing once school is out? and was answered by 25 members. Thirteen adults were also present. The secretary s report was read by Ana Frazee and approved. The treasurer s report was read by Delaney McMullen and approved. For old business, Kyndal Nelson gave a report on the Easter egg hunt. The club also discussed some Share the Fun ideas. Also, members signed up for what times they would work the kids games at Relay for Life. For new business, the club voted to approve that we would pay $2.50 for every member in our club for 4Hers for 4-H. The club also decided to clean and cover the sand volleyball court at the fair grounds on Saturday, May 10. Ana also reminded the club that we had pre-fair clean up on July 16 and that we would go swimming at the Malvern pool afterwards. The club also organized a committee for decorating the booth. Linda told the club that she has a portable charcoal grill if anyone was interested in competing in the 4H Wild & Mild cook off. Many announcements were given by president Ana Frazee and. Presentations were given by Isabel Griffin and Bailey Keller on cows, Danielle Hardcastle on high jump, and Josh Hardcastle on tigers. Other presentations were given by Jessica Arnold on button bracelets, Michelle Arnold on shaving cream art, and Audrey Arnold on clothespin magnets. The next meeting will be Monday, June 2 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

The secretary s report was read and approved. The treasurer s report was also read and approved. For old business, the club decided on a Share the Fun idea. Members also were reminded to help with kids games at Relay for Life. For new business, the club discussed several fair activities, including fair clean-up, building hosts, ice cream sales, kids games, and decorating the club booth. Several announcements were given by President Ana Frazee about the Clothing Contest, Junior Outdoor camp, Intermediate Lock Out, Youth Conference, and animal project shows and workshops. Presentations were given by Riley Weise on smoothies, Kyndal Nelson on bird treats, Lauren Roenfeldt on dogs, and Larissa Tibbles on sewing. The next meeting will be Monday, July 7 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. There were 12 adults present. The secretary s report was read and approved. For old business, the club discussed the Share the Fun skit. Each member was asked to pay six dollars for the clubs t-shirts. Riley Weise gave a report on the Junior Fun Day. Ana also reminded the club about the battery recycle update. For new business, the club talked about Fair business. Linda reminded the club that everyone needed to sign up to work a time to sell ice cream for the club. The club also discussed our booth decorations and animal signs. Ana also told the club about the kids activities on Monday and the club decided on a budget for the candy. Reminders were also given about the clothing and communication contest, herdmanship at the fair, working exhibits, and pie auction. Fair wristbands will be handed out on July 20 during judging. Presentations were given by Grant Hughes on plants and A.J. Hughes on lights. The next meeting will be Monday, August 4, and we will discuss options for the meeting.
