1 Ottawa 4 th Degree Exemplification Information February 23, 2019 The Saturday February 23, 2019 Exemplification for the First Ontario District will be hosted by the Cartier Assembly 860 in Ottawa, Ontario. Exemplification Dedication This my first Exemplification will be dedicated to SK David Charles HAMILTON who peacefully passed on Friday, August 31st at the age of 72. SK David was member with St. Philips/St. Clare Council in Richmond for over twenty years and served as Faithful Comptroller with Cartier Assembly 860. Eligibility for Fourth Degree An applicant for the Fourth Degree must be 18 years of age, be a citizen of the country in which he resides, a Third-Degree member in good standing and a practical Catholic in union with the Holy See. Dress for The Exemplification The official dress for candidates for the Fourth Degree is black or dark (blue or grey) business suit with black shoes, black socks, white dress shirt and tie. A member of the Armed Forces, full time police and firefighters will be considered in proper attire when dressed in a Class A dress uniform. The preferred uniform for the Fourth Degree Knights is the new uniform. A dark business suit can also be worn by the members attending the Exemplification. Only the Marshal, Former Masters, State Deputy, current and Past Faithful Navigators as well as the Colour Corps shall wear their new uniform or full regalia during the Exemplification. Fourth Degree Knights may dress in full regalia for the parade. They shall wear the social baldric at the banquet. Only the official pin of the 4 th Degree shall be worn. 2 Fees Candidate Fee: $40.00 (includes initiation fee, social baldric and lapel pin). Priest candidate fee: $20.00 (includes lapel pin and social baldric). The Form 4, registration forms and fees for candidates and clergy candidates are to be submitted and paid to the Master, SK John Schembri Deadline February 18, 2019 Form 4: All areas of Form 4 including section 7 must be completed prior to submitting to the Master. Section 8 will be completed by the Master. It is imperative that the Council s Financial Secretary signs off in section 7, attesting that the candidate is a member in good standing at the 3 rd Degree level.
