In this new year, each of us should renew our commitment to the Lord Jesus, to one another as brothers and sisters in Christ, and to seeing lost souls served and saved. A television that shows the church service has been added to the room to make it more convenient for you as a parent. The room is also equipped with chairs and a changing table. Parents please remember to cleanup after your children when using the nursery.

4 Weekly Announcements Ministry Spotlight on the Salem History Walk: Each month a current or past Ministry will be highlighted to tell their unique story. For January the Deacons Ministry will be the spotlight. Ministries that are interested in being featured in upcoming months should see a Futures Committee Representative. Contribution Statements: The 2018 contributions statements can now be requested. Please complete the request form located at the Welcome center. All requests will be handled within one week of receiving request. It s Almost Girl Scout Cookie Time: The annual Girl Scout Cookie Sale will take place on Sunday the 10, 17 & 24 of February, 2019 after the 8:30 am and 11:30 am worship services. Please make plans to purchase your cookies and thank you in advance for supporting the Salem Girl Scouts. For more information please contact Jackie Genchan Ministry New Member Appreciation Luncheon: All Salem New Members who joined during 2017 and 2018 are invited to attend our Annual New Member Appreciation Luncheon on January 26, 2019 at 11:30 A.M. in the Fellowship Hall. New Member Bridge Builder Ministry. Parents/Guardians: Pastor's Honor Roll is approaching. Gather your child's report card that reflects the entire first semester (first & second quarter), review it to see if your child meets Honor Roll Guidelines, and submit if they have made it. Pastor's Honor Roll will take place the third Sunday in February. Report cards are due January 27, 2019 to be considered for this presentation. 5 Black College & Cultural Enrichment Tour Final Meeting: The Black College & Cultur al Enrichment Tour in conjunction with Salem Baptist Church, Morning Star Baptist Church and the Urban League of Nebraska final meeting will be Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Salem Baptist Church at 6:00pm in the Maurice Watson Conference Room. This is the last day to pay and reserve your seat for the tour. The tour is for Freshman, Sophomore, Juniors, and Seniors in high school. Parents are encouraged to attend to complete the student medical release form. Also, the youth will select their roommates, ask questions, receive the tentative traveling agenda and hear the do's and don't concerning the tour. 8 Launch Breeze We will be introducing our new online church management software system very soon. If you have a Facebook account, an Instagram account, LinkedIn account, or any other social media account, Breeze is just as easy to maneuver. You will be able to upload a picture on your page (and your immediate family members). With your church member access, you will also be able to: View and update your own information View giving statements We now have the ability to print our own member directories using the picture you post on your member page. We will be sending out an invitation link for each of you that we have an address for. 10 Leaders and Emerging Leaders Needed All Hands On Deck We need leaders and emerging leaders to assist Dr. Bachus and the Futures Ministry reach the goals set before us in 2019 as we prepare for a centennial of ministry in As a reminder, the goals are: Promoting the Vision Continuing to Pray Showcasing our Ministries Hearing from the Membership Completing various Feasibility Studies Kicking off Our Centennial Plan If you feel God moving on your heart to serve Salem in this extensive effort, we invite you to sign up at the Futures Ministry table after the 8:30 am and 11:30 am worship services. Before the 1 st Sunday in February, we will be contacting you to attend a ONE HOUR meeting to hear the plan details, timeline, leader expectations, complete a spiritual gifts inventory and set a date for our initial leadership training to accomplish our 2019 goals.
