Walther A Prayer for Our Nation s Birthday Lord, we thank You for this country in which we live: for its beauty in the fields and hills, the rivers and valleys,for its breadth, from sea to shining sea, from artic to tropic, for its bounty in the water and the soil, enough to eat and enough to share, for its people, a multicultural tapestry drawn from lands around the world. Lord, we thank You for the heritage of this counrty: for those who with their feet pioneered this land and with their hands plowed the soil,for those who with their hearts dreamed of freedom, and with their wills helped make it happen. Lord, we thank You for the birth of this country: for those whose minds helped shape our government, for those whose voices would not be silenced, and passion for freedom would not be quenched, for those out of whose lives this country was born. 6 WELCOME TO BETHANY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH We are delighted to have you in worship with us today! Our worship services this Sunday are at 8:15am, 10:00am and 6:00pm. A Nursery is adjacent to the Sanctuary for infants through 2 years of age, and has a paging system available. A Cry Room with windows and speaker is at the rear of the Sanctuary (near the usher s table) on the pulpit side. Child Care (2 nd Hour) for ages 2 and 3 is available in room 149. Worship and Wonder, available for children age 4 thru 2 nd grade during our 10am service. Children will be escorted by our teachers after the offering to the class, which is held in Rm 144. Parents can pick up their children in the classroom after church. Coffee, cookies/donuts and fellowship are in the Welcome Center Please sign the Fellowship Pad at the end of the pew and pass it on. Sound amplification devices are available to those who might need or want to use them. Our ushers are available to help with any needs that you have during worship. Our wonderful in-depth Bible study on the Old Testament book of Esther is no longer in the church library. If you have seen the box containing the dvd lessons, please return it to the library. There is a growing interest in forming a group to study Esther once again. Thanks for your help. Pastor Melany July Special Offering - Vacation Bible School The special offering envelope for July supports the Vacation Bible School program. Online giver? Not receiving envelopes? You can still donate to this special offering either by selecting "Vacation Bible School" in the online giving portal or noting that your donation is for VBS on your check or a pew envelope. Thank you for your contribution to the youth of Bethany and the VBS program! The Golden Oldies are hosting a trip to Elkins, WV on Tuesday, September 26 to Wednesday, September 27. The trip will depart from the church parking lot and travel by deluxe motor coach to Elkins, WV. Your price includes: one night lodging, buffet dinner, live show, breakfast, New Tyart Flyer Train excursion with lunch, and many other exciting stops. This trip is open to anyone who would like to come along. Cost depends on room occupancy. Please see Judy Gardner, Diane Cook or Dolly Rastetter for more information. It is time for us to update our database with any changes, additions, or deletions that may have occurred in YOUR family over the past year. Have you changed your phone number? Have you moved? Are you preparing to move soon? Are all of your children still at home and are they all included in your membership record? Do you want your record published? If you have not already informed the Church Office about changes to your record, please let us know now so that the information in the Guide Book & Directory is correct. We need this ASAP, Please.
