For your convenience, we have a warm and loving nursery adjacent to the sanctuary, complete with an available paging system. We also have a Cry Room at the back of the Sanctuary (near the usher s table) on the pulpit side with windows and a speaker so that you can see and hear the service. THE CALL TO WORSHIP *THE HYMN NO. *THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison) O Gracious Lord, You have come to us an infant savior. We have celebrated, but often for the wrong reasons. We have much of gifts, but we failed to receive Your greatest gift. We sang songs, but they did not turn our hearts to You. As we are not poised between Christmas and the New Year, forgive us for being neither hot nor cold, but only lukewarm in our faith, our love, and our service. Grant us the faith which assures us of Your constant love and call to holiness all year long. And show us mercy now as in the silence we confess our sin to You. 2

Baptism dates for 2013 Parents please call the church office for dates. Chancel Flower orders are now being taken for Flowers can be purchased at $25 a vase, $50 for 2 vases or a centerpiece for $35. These flowers come from Shop N Save. If more than one person wants flowers on the same day they must come from the same florist. 4 Scrip: Stop by the script table and see what NEW SCRIPT CARDS we have on hand, some of the new cards are: Boston Market, Cheesecake Factory, Outback, Steak & Shake, Buca di Beppo, Olive Garden, Red Robin restaurants also Sears, Barnes & Noble, and Game Stop to name a few. Stop at the Welcome Center after worship or at the office during the week and purchase a card(s) for Home Depot, K Mart, Lowes and, Target. Check out the different cards that are available or what cards could be ordered for you. You can also purchase Giant Eagle, and Shop & Save cards, Sunoco and BP gas cards. This is easiest fundraiser you will ever participate in because it doesn't cost you anymore than you already spend. We would like to thank everyone who has supported the script program around the holidays and during the year. 8:15 Andrea Prohaska 10:45 Pat and Earl Swanson MOPS and MOMSnext - All moms are welcome to join us for the 2013 year! Registration is currently being accepted for MOPS (for moms with infants through Kindergarten) and MOMSnext (for moms with children in Kindergarten through 12 th grade). MOPS meets the 2 nd and 4 th Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. MOMSnext meets the 1 st and 3 rd Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. LOGOS is back Tuesday, January 8 th : Yes, on January 8 th we re back for a cup-stomping, spoon-hanging, gopherrunning, Spirit filled good time on Tuesdays! Please register for the winter session of LOGOS from 4:30 5:00 in the Narthex on January 8 th. If you attended in the fall you will not need to fill out the paperwork, but there will be a small fee, $10 per child or $15 per family, to go toward the cost of dinners and supplies. If you weren t able to participate this fall, come see what LOGOS is all about! LOGOS is a long running program for kids ages 4 years old - 5th Grade that is aimed at helping children discover their faith in Jesus Christ and fellowship with other children and volunteers in a fun, friendly environment. We meet from mid- September through mid-april on Tuesdays from 5-7pm. The program each week consists of bible lessons, music, crafts and recreation followed by a dinner hour of family style dinner and games. We hope to see you there! We can always use more adult and teen volunteers! Would you like to help out in a classroom or the kitchen, with crafts or table games, or are you able to come fellowship with the LOGOS youth during the dinner hour? If you are interested in finding out more about helping with LOGOS, please contact Karen Verduci at or jkverduci@juno.com. Fellowship of Prayer participants will meet Wednesday, January 2nd at 10:00 a.m. in the Welcome Center for fellowship and refreshments followed by a time of prayer and updating the prayer list in the Bride s Room. Open to anyone interested in praying for others. 4

5 Registration for Bethany Church Preschool will be held January 28th for church members and returning students, and February 4th for the general public from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in Room 162. Returning children may sign-up for a registration form outside each classroom prior to our registration date. Registration is $50 and must accompany the form. A child must be 3 by September 1st, and must be toilet trained, no pull-ups. Please note returning students must be current in their payments to register for next year. The Year of the Bible.Starts on January 1! Well, it s about to begin. The Year of the Bible journey starts on Tuesday, January 1. Most of the participants have received their guide books, and distribution continues today after both services. If you haven t signed up yet, don t despair; just speak with Fred or Deb Gossic in the Narthex. The Lord is helping to multiply the limited number of books that were ordered to accommodate all who are interested in joining us. Happy New Year to all!
