Bergan Welcome and Call to Worship Leader: God is great and greatly to be praised. People: We praise the great and awesome name of God. Leader: Our God is a lover of justice, who executes justice and righteousness. All: Holy is our God! *Hymn 288 I Sing the Mighty Power of God ellacombe x *Opening Prayer Prayer of Confession Holy God, our ruler and deliverer: you have loved us and put faith in us, and we have disappointed you. We have forgotten your good works on our behalf and failed to trust your promises. Our world shows little evidence of the justice and righteousness you love. We do not honor you with our lives. O Lord, be gracious, and show mercy to us. Lead us and sustain us by your presence, that we may know you and find favor in your sight. Amen. (silent confession) Kyrie (Hymnal No. 565) Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Declaration of Pardon Leader: Friends, believe the good news of the gospel. People: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Thanks be to God! Call to Faithfulness Leader: As God s own people, be merciful in action, kindly in heart, humble in mind. Be always ready to forgive as freely as God has forgiven you. And, above everything else, be loving, and never forget to be thankful for what Christ has done for you. *Gloria Patri Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen. Prayer for Illumination Proclaiming God s Word Emily Hagen

People: Thanks be to God! Sermon Good Examples Lisa Patterson Responding to God s Word *Affirmation of Faith (unison) Philippians 2:5-11 Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death even death on a cross. Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess to the glory of God: Jesus Christ is Lord! Moment for Mission Michael Ball *Hymn 435 We All Are One in Mission es flog ein kleins waldvögelein Presentation of Tithes & Offerings Offertory Jesus Loves Me arr. T.A. Bergan *Doxology Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise God, all creatures here below; Praise God above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen. Prayers of the People and The Lord s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. *Hymn 422 God, Whose Giving Knows No Ending beach spring *Benediction *Postlude I Sing the Mighty Power of God Michael Burkhardt *Those who are able are asked to stand. x Latecomers may be seated.
