Today we celebrate the sacrament of baptism for Benjamin Andrew Henry, the son of Sara A. Hayden and Christopher A. Henry. The flowers in worship this morning are given in thanksgiving for Bridges Smith and the 80 years he has devoted to God, family, and community, with love from Betsy, Libby, Joe, Trey, Will, Lizzy, Wade and Ciel. The cradle cross at the baptismal font celebrates the birth of Eva Margaret Vann, the great granddaughter of Margaret McGarity and the daughter of Christina and Brandon Vann. Child Care is available during both services in the nursery. From the atrium, enter the nursery through the double doors to the right of the Sanctuary. 4 THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM March 11, 2018 Today we celebrate the sacrament of baptism for Benjamin Andrew Henry, the son of Sara A. Hayden and Christopher A. Henry. The Presentation The Thanksgiving over the Water The Baptism The Blessing The Welcome Leader: This child has now been received into the one holy catholic and apostolic church through baptism. God has made him a member of the household of God. See what love the Father has for us, that we should be called children of God, and so we are. Let us welcome the newly baptized. People: With joy and thanksgiving we welcome this child into Christ s church. We are the family of God, for we are all one in Christ.
