4 Stephen Ministry Open House November 3 Stephen Ministry will encourage those interested in the program to attend an Open House on November 3 in room 206. Fellowship begins at 6:00pm with a brown bag supper, followed by education at 6:30pm. Dessert coffee is served completes by 7:30pm. Visitors are asked to attend please contact Diane Smith if you have questions at New Super Wednesday Track! Home for the Holidays: Holiday Decorating Entertaining If you are short on time money, you are looking for fun, creative ways to spice up holidays, this Super Wednesday session is for you! While we sip cider nibble on treats, we will look at some creative inexpensive approaches to holiday decorating, wrapping, entertaining! There are even some take home treats to enjoy! Join us in the Art Room for some fun! Women s Advent Book Study Resumes November 5 Join our group, led by Lisa Patterson, this fall for the Advent study. We will discuss Being Christian: Baptism, Bible, Eucharist, Prayer by Rowan Williams, which is available in the Narthex for $8. We will learn more about the essentials of Christianity in this ecumenical group. Come join us study a simple book about complex concerns. Bring a brown bag lunch, if you wish. Community Outreach: Holiday Donations for Our Daily Bread Clients The Community Outreach Committee is asking for donations of items for Our Daily Bread that will be used in holiday gift bags for ODB clients. Items may be placed in the designated Community Outreach bins outside of Fellowship Hall near the soda machines. Items will be collected from November 1 through December 20. Needed items include: new knit hats gloves, tube socks, plastic poncho, soap, lotion, deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste brush, chapstick, cough drops, razors, new underwear, body powder. Children s Bibles Needed Recently, a generous gift was given to buy Story Bibles to put in the pews in the sanctuary for the use of our children during worship. We still need to purchase additional Bibles in order to put Bibles in all of the pews. If you would like to purchase a Bible in honor or memory of someone or just want to give a donation to purchase the Bibles, help would be greatly appreciated. Please make out checks or donations to St. Andrew noting in the memo line of check children s bibles. In particular, we offer thanks for the lives faith of members of the St. Andrew community of faith who have died since All Saints Day last year. Christmas Pageant Meeting Sunday, November 2 Attention all children, ages K5! Casting call for our annual Christmas Pageant is Sunday, November 2! If child is interested in being a part of The Story of Christmas this year, please join us in the fellowship hall just following the 10:50am service on November 2. We will share pizza together talk about the pageant, including assigning parts. This is such a special tradition in the life of St. Andrew a wonderful way to help the true story of Christmas come to life through the voices of our very own St. Andrew children.
