5 Special Notices: The March-April issues of the Upper Room are now at the back of the sanctuary. Please consider making a small contribution in the slot beside the books to help defray the cost. Thank you. Easter Flowers: Persons interested in placing flowers in the sanctuary in honour, or in memory of a loved one are asked to have the flowers delivered to the office starting the Monday after Palm Sunday (March 26 th ). Please have names into the office by Wednesday, March 28 th to be printed in the bulletin. No lilies please, due to severe allergies. The Spring Rummage Sale is coming up on Friday, April 27 th, 5-7pm and Saturday, April 28 th, 8-10:30am. Please collect up any treasures and deliver them to the church the week of (but not before) April 23 rd. If you require pick-up of items please call the church. Please remember to continue to wear your name tags. If you would like a new subscription to the United Church Observer the cost is $25. Please call the office if you are If you currently have a subscription and plan to renew, you will find an envelope in your mail slot this week. The Bell Choir will begin practicing again after church on April 8 and on the following Sundays in preparation for playing the bells on Anniversary Sunday (May 6 th ). Please see Valerie Tremble if you are interested. All are welcome to join in. The Smiley-face pancake breakfast is coming up on Saturday, May 5 th from 8-11am. You will enjoy fluffy pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, toast, coffee/tea, juice, jam and real maple syrup. Adults $10, Children u12 $6. This is a reminder to folks to please have a look at the red binder at the back of the sanctuary and sign up for reading scripture, serving communion, greeting, and dedicating bulletins. Thank you. If you are aware of a member of the church who is in hospital and would like a clergy visit, please contact the office at The UCW continues to collect: Postage stamps for Oxfam Canada. The border of the stamps should be trimmed to ¼. eye glasses for distribution to Third world countries. Aluminum pop can closure tabs You may drop any of these items in the containers at the entrance of the Bessborough door. Thank you for helping with these endeavours.

6 -6- No Scents makes good sense. Thanks to a generous donation we have a transport wheelchair, rollator and walker in the church. These will be stored at the back of the sanctuary and are there should the need arise for anyone experiencing mobility issues during services or activities at the church. Community Notices: For its spring concert, the Louisbourg Choir offers you Amidst Shadow and Light, a program inspired by the spring equinox. We will accept all paperback and hardcover books, as well as children s picture books, but PLEASE NO textbooks, magazines, videos, CDs or tapes. Tell your friends! 7 CHURCH COUNCIL highlights - COMMITTEE REPORTS: MEN S GROUP/FINANCE/FUNDRAISING the Rummage sale is coming up on April 27 and 28, the pancake breakfast is on May 5, and there are still grocery cards available PROPERTY MAINTENANCE the washroom renovations are going well. The accessible washroom is complete while the two other washrooms will have the floors tiled, the walls and ceilings painted and sinks replaced. This will take another week or so. Next week the Easter quilt will go up at the back of the sanctuary. PASTORAL CARE pleased to have Faye Germon and Joyce Parsons from Steeves Memorial join the committee. The meeting began with a short tribute to Rev Ron Maund, acknowledging his support and guidance for so many years. The visitation chart was reviewed. The committee felt that the congregation would benefit from a welcoming committee, a bereavement team and semi-annual check ins where money is not requested. Susan Fowler noted that she would be willing to take on the chair of Christian Development if anyone would be willing to take on pastoral care. UCW/CRAFT GROUP Marathon Bridge is almost finished for the year. They will have a make-up game on March 29 to replace a storm date. WORSHIP COMMITTEE On April 22 a youth group band from Bedford United led by Rick Gunn will provide the music and lead the service. MINISTER S REPORT conducted worship services, is grateful for the Sanctuary committee, visited members in hospital, met with families surrounding the death of a loved one and those with changing family dynamics, phoned and e- mailed folks to keep in touch, took communion to those in senior`s homes, attended the pastoral care committee meeting, conducted worship services at Spencer Home and People Park Tower and continues to work with adult and youth confirmation groups. COMMUNICATION Kim Gallant stated that she would be willing to take on this committee.

Join me at the library for some meditation, relaxation & visualization. This 30-minute treat will help you change your focus and restore your energy to both mind and body, leaving you feeling a sense of calmness, peacefulness and balance. If anyone would like to have a copy of an upcoming service on a disk, they should contact the office. From UCW - A Special Thank You to all those who have contributed and continue to support the coffee and conversation gatherings after the Sunday service. Your gifts of food items as well as coffee and tea are very much appreciated. We welcome your help at any time and food items do not need to be home baked, healthy choices are always a plus. We hope that this fellowship time continues to be part of the warmth and friendliness shown to visitors and newcomers, Mount Royal folks, young and not so young. Thank you! There is a sign-up sheet next to the coffee window. Due to the large number of non-emergency, outside calls, being received by the minister, her phone number has now been removed from the answering machine at the church.
