The deadline for this publication is January 25. The Annual Congregational Meeting will be held on February 11 during the service of worship. 6 -6- From UCW - A Special Thank You to all those who have contributed and continue to support the coffee and conversation gatherings after the Sunday service. Your gifts of food items as well as coffee and tea are very much appreciated. We welcome your help at any time and food items do not need to be home baked, healthy choices are always a plus. We hope that this fellowship time continues to be part of the warmth and friendliness shown to visitors and newcomers, Mount Royal folks, young and not so young. Thank you! There is a sign-up sheet next to the coffee window. Ushering: We have a good group of ushers at Mount Royal but can always use additional help both as spares and as part of the tentative roster where people are assigned to about three Sundays in the year. If you would be willing to help usher, please speak to John Brown (tel: ). Confirmation classes for youth and adults (two separate classes) will be offered during Lent. If you are interested, please call the office at Christmas Outreach Thank You to the Mount Royal congregation for both the gifts and the food that you generously provided for the three families at Christmas. Mount Royal also provided support for the ReConnect Christmas party held at St. George s Anglican Church. This is a group that is sponsored by the YMCA and their social gatherings are held weekly at St. George s. Due to the large number of non-emergency, outside calls, being received by the minister, her phone number has now been removed from the answering machine at the church. If you would like her contact information please collect one of her business cards from the back of the sanctuary. The UCW continues to collect: Postage stamps for Oxfam Canada. The border of the stamps should be trimmed to ¼. eye glasses for distribution to Third world countries. Milk bags for sleeping mats for Haiti (Hillcrest School). Plastic bread bag closure tabs Aluminum pop can closure tabs You may drop any of these items in the containers at the entrance of the Bessborough door. Thank you for helping with these endeavours. We now have a transport wheelchair, rollator and walker in the church. These will be stored at the back of the sanctuary and are there

7 should the need arise for anyone experiencing mobility issues during services or activities at the church. Please be advised that we now have the technology to permit the screen operators to record and post on the church website, any regular or special services held in the sanctuary. If anyone would like have a copy of an upcoming service on a disk, they should contact the office. If you are aware of a member of the church who is in hospital and would like a clergy visit, please contact the office at No Scents make good sense. If you have and would like to receive notices regarding cancellations and other items of interest, please put your name and address on a piece of paper in the collection plate. Thank you. Community Notices: Here is a "wish list" of most needed items at ReConnect: Deodorant, Toothpaste/Toothbrush, Razors, Soap, Shampoo, Toilet Paper, Tampons, Pet food (cat/dog), Codiac Transit Bus tickets, Food vouchers for grocery store, Cash donations (to assist with identification, damage deposits etc.) Hats/Scarves/Gloves (in winter), gently used bed sheets/blankets, Towels, sleeping bags/tents, gently used footwear (boots, sneakers etc), Gently used winter jackets, Non-Perishable Food Items, Hearty soups, Pasta noodles/pasta sauce, Coffee, granola bars, kraft dinner, peanut butter, Canned Ravioli/pastas, Canned meat, Evaporated milk, powdered milk. For your information, these items can be dropped off at a collection box at the YMCA. Meditation every Monday 12:15pm sharp - 12:45pm The Moncton Public Library (parking validation available) FREE - No registration (on a first come basis) Open to the Public! Join me at the library for some meditation, relaxation & visualization. This 30-minute treat will help you change your focus and restore your energy to both mind and body, leaving you feeling a sense of calmness, peacefulness and balance. 8 Laughter Yoga every Tuesday 5:05-5:45pm at the Moncton Lion s Community Centre 473 St George St. Everyone is welcome to attend. No registration required, $5.00/session Laugh for your health, feel the difference in just one session. No jokes, comedy or sense of humor required. Laughter exercises, yoga breathing and playful fun for health and well-being. No special clothes or shoes or equipment required. Debbie Melanson-Hebert is your certified laughter yoga leader. Benefits of laughter yoga include: releases stress, enhances energy levels, enriches relationships, boosts immune system, improves overall health.
