And so we come, not in a show of strength, nor presumption of privilege. Rather to remember and be remembered; to be held and made whole by the grace of Christ, the mystery of God and the encouragement of the Spirit. All: Giver and Redeemer of life, we offer our gratitude; we lay down our defences for a love that creates then calls us forth often from places of imprisonment and desolation. For you are our liberation and hope, you are our mercy and courage for the journey. One: And so, ours is the song of countless generations who have also been captivated by your beauty and set free in your healing presence:

One: Before these symbols of everyday life bread for the sharing and wine for gladness of heart we pause and pray. Prayer Celebrations and Concerns One: What is our prayer on this day? All: Shower us with your Spirit, here and now, so this common meal becomes a life-giving celebration. May our eating and drinking this day bind us to Christ. May we know that you live in us and that we live in you, so that we live in your world, knowing it is indeed yours. Living God, this is our prayer. One: Give us a vision of a new world where all can be loved, respected, and live in peace. We gather these and all our prayers, thankful that we may turn to you in one voice, saying, Lord s Prayer VU#910 Holy Wisdom, Comforter, Advocate, Friend, may these gifts of creation bless our lives with the presence and power of the risen Christ. May they give us comfort and strength, peace and wisdom. May they make us whole. Send, O God, your Holy Spirit upon us and upon these gifts, that all who share in the bread and wine may be the body of Christ: light, life and love in the world. Sharing of the Bread and Cup Prayer after Communion For the bread we have eaten, for the wine we have tasted, for the life we have received,

Grant that we may grow in Christian love and understanding, and that ours may be lives of faithful action, in Christ s name. Empowered and blessed by God the creator, Jesus the redeemer, and the friendship of the Holy Spirit, we must go and tell new generations of God s glorious deeds. Did you know that when you meditate, you can clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress? Is it time to stop and recharge yourself? Join me at the library for some meditation, relaxation & visualization. This 30 minute treat will help you change your focus and restore your energy to both mind and body, leaving you feeling a sense of calmness, peacefulness and balance. Here is a "wish list" of most needed items at ReConnect: Deodorant, Toothpaste/Toothbrush, Razors, Soap, Shampoo, Toilet Paper, Tampons, Pet food (cat/dog), Codiac Transit Bus tickets, Food vouchers for grocery store, Cash donations (to assist with identification, damage deposits etc.) Hats/Scarves/Gloves (in winter), gently used bed sheets/blankets, Towels, sleeping bags/tents, gently used footwear (boots, sneakers etc), Gently used winter jackets, Non-Perishable Food Items, Hearty soups, Pasta noodles/pasta sauce, Coffee, granola bars, kraft dinner, peanut butter, Canned Ravioli/pastas, Canned meat, Evaporated milk, powdered milk. For your information, these items can be dropped off at a collection box at the YMCA. Please remember to continue to bring non-perishable food items for the food bank the second week of each month. Thank you. If you have and would like to receive notices regarding cancellations and other items of interest, please put your name and address on a piece of paper in the collection plate. Thank you. We now have a transport wheelchair, rollator and walker in the church. These will be stored at the back of the sanctuary and are there should the need arise for anyone experiencing mobility issues during services or activities at the church. Please be advised that we now have the technology to permit the screen operators to record and post on the church website, any regular or special services held in the sanctuary. If anyone would like have a copy of an upcoming service on a disk, they should contact the office. If you are aware of a member of the church who is in hospital and would like a clergy visit, please contact the office at The UCW continues to collect: Postage stamps for Oxfam Canada. The border of the stamps
