All parishioners and their families are invited to attend our Parish Summer Picnic which will be held NEXT SUNDAY, JULY 1st. Our Picnic will again be held at Governor s Park in Bellefonte at Pavilion #3 (same as last year) and will begin immediately following the 10:15 AM Mass. The barbeque meal will be served at Noon. GO OVER THE EDGE FOR THE FAITH CENTRE How is your sense of adventure? Have you always wanted to do something daring, but safe and fun? How about rappelling? The FaithCentre & InterFaith Human Services are organizing a fundraiser for this fall where you can RAPPEL FOR A CAUSE! On October 11th, the first 92 persons raising a minimum of $1,000 will earn a spot to go OVER THE EDGE at the Fraser Centre. This is a 12 story building in the heart of Downtown State College. No experience is necessary and anyone can rappel. Get your family and friends and neighbors together to help sponsor this breath-taking adventure and to help a great cause. The FaithCentre, located in downtown Bellefonte, helps numerous families in many facets of need. Last year, their agencies assisted over a 1,000 area residents and their pets to be fed, and stay safe and warm in their homes. Please consider helping. Our Regional Youth Ministry and Family and Friends will be going on a Kayaking Trip this Monday, June 25th traveling from Clearfield to Shawville. The cost is $30 per person if you do not have a kayak and need to rent one. If you have your own kayak or canoe, there is no fee. McCrackens in Shawville will shuttle drivers for this event and rent kayaks (or canoes which are $35 to rent). You may want to bring some money to stop for dinner on the way back. Mike Wolfe at Queen of Archangels Parish at PARISH COUNCIL & FINANCE COUNCIL MEETINGS Our Parish Council and Finance Council will both meet again next month on Thursday, July 12th. The meetings are held in the rectory basement beginning at 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM respectively. CATHOLIC COMMUNITY DAY WITH THE SPIKES The Northern Deanery will once again attend the State College Spikes vs. Auburn Baseball Game on Sunday, July 22nd at Medlar Field in Lubrano Park. Our churches will participate in singing the National Anthem at the beginning of the game and God Bless America at the end of the game followed by fireworks. The gates open at 5:00 PM. The tickets are only $10.00 for a field box seat. Make checks out to Our Lady of Victory with Spikes Game in the memo line. Payment is due at the time of the order. The deadline to reserve a seat is Monday, July 16. Hoyt Wilhelm hit a homerun his very first time at bat, but in a 21 year career, he never hit another homerun. FAITH DAY AT DELGROSSO S PARK IN TIPTON Our 2018 Faith Day at Delgrosso s Park is THIS Sunday, June 24th. Celebrate our faith and enjoy a day of great rides, slides and the waterpark! Or just come for Mass and enjoy some of America s best amusement park food. Highlights of the day include Liturgy at 3:00 PM with Bishop Mark; a Family Faith Procession, and a picnic in the diocesan pavilion at 5:00 PM. A nonperishable food item or a free-will offering for Catholic Charities will also be collected. Delgrosso Park in Tipton offers more than 30 different park rides and games. The Park has The Water Slides and Laguna Splash, including a wave pool, the Lazy River and a variety of water features. Bring the family for a great fun afternoon! BETHANY RETREAT CENTER OFFERS ICON WRITING WORKSHOP Come to Bethany Retreat Center in Frenchville for a special opportunity to learn about and create an icon based upon a 13th century image of Archangel Gabriel (see picture). Students will receive step-by-step instructions and all necessary materials. Mary Kay Laplante will lead the class using ancient techniques and all-natural materials rich with symbolic meaning. The workshop days include class instruction and painting, personal prayer time, optional Centering Prayer, daily Mass and home-cooked meals provided by the Bethany staff. Arrival time is Sunday, November 4th after 4:00 PM with supper at 5:00 PM. Departure is Saturday, November 10th after 1:00 PM. The cost is $ for class instruction and ALL icon materials. Accommodation cost is $375 for overnights and meals. There is a non-refundable deposit of $250 and a limited number of partial scholarships are available based upon need. Space is limited to 12 Retreatants, so please register early. He spoke at our Masses about his vocational journey to become a seminarian instead of pursuing his medical career. Tucker now informed us that he will be entering St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in the fall! Thank you for all your donations to The Laboure Society which helps with seminarian student loans. This donation will assist with the tuition of a student(s) attending our school. We have also received a donation in support of our students and Catholic education from Lorna Maloy. DRESS DOWN/CHARITY DONATIONS Throughout the school year, our students are permitted to dress out of school uniform on designated days for a donation. PRE-K REGISTRATION FOR Please call Tina in the school office if you are interested in registering your child for our limited openings in Pre-K. The Diocesan Family Life Office has all the information about sacramental marriage preparation. You can reach them for information at or online at familylife@dioceseaj,.org. There are two Marriage Preparation Classes available yet this year. One will be held on September 12,19, & 26 at St. Francis of Assisi Activity Center at 134 Barron Avenue in Johnstown. The other will be held on October 16, 23 & 30 at St. John the Evangelist School Auditorium here in Bellefonte. Both sessions are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 9:30 PM. Pre-registration is required and early registration is advised as some series fill up months in advance. The cost of $70 per couple includes all the sessions in a series. The fee is payable at the first session made payable to Family Life Office.

5 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL PARENTS: LAST OPPORTUNITY! Miss Jen Gill will hold the last Summer Bible Program class this Tuesday, June 26th. The class will be held from 6 :00 PM - 8:00 PM in our St. John School Cafeteria. All children in our parish in grades Kindergarten through grade 5 are welcome to attend. This year s theme is Bible Stories of the Old Testament. These members were Louis Kresovich, Michael Barrett and Lee Dillard. ST. JOE S ACADEMY TEACHING POSITIONS OPEN PART-TIME MATHEMATICS TEACHER FOR ST. JOE S Saint Joseph s Catholic Academy is seeking a part time certified Mathematics teacher for the school year. The individual must be PA certified in secondary instruction (Grades 7-12) and possess the ability to teach college prep, honors, and AP level courses. Experience in teaching secondary students is preferred. PART-TIME SPANISH TEACHER FOR ST.
